Huma regulator in a .22 Wildcat - Starting pressure setting

Hi Bob_0,

Yes, I should have mentioned that I was hoping to be shooting at 890-910 with JSB 18's, and my barrel is the standard barrel that comes with the first Gen Wildcat. So are you saying that I could turn it down to 130 from it's current 135 setting? I'm just being lazy and trying not to have to pull the reg several times to get the pressure set correctly:)

Thanks again!

If you think it's too high then you could turn it down.

Either setting should get you the velocity you want.

If 130 bar is just right, then 135 bar might be better for a more efficient shot. Same can be said if 125 bar is just right, then 130 would be better.

At least with the WC it's not difficult to remove and adjust. Just make sure to get the proper clearance for the pellet probe when you put it back together.

My experience with Huma regs is limited to one installation on my FX Royale 400 in .22, so take it for what it's worth. I found the scale on the reg to be very unreliable, an estimate at best. When I got the tuning I wanted, the scale on the reg indicated 150 bar, but when I shot a complete chrono run, the actual pressure was something around 120. That was yielding about 880 fps with the JSB 18. That's assuming my rifle pressure gauge is reasonable accurate, and I believe it is.

I don’t mean to hijack, but what do you mean by proper clearance of the pellet probe ? And how do you adjust it ?
