Huggett snipe / standard - is it the best?

Now before we have a in depth - mod for every purpose , etc. This is just a basic assessment from my limited perspective. I have used these moderators.

huggett snipe / standard - magna - astille +1 extra chamber and nose cone

donnyfl sumo - shogun - ronin - emperor2

ramus tech trident

0DB

STO - their biggest one from 2 years ago - I cant remember name

HUMA 3 , 4 , 5 section units 40mm diameter

quietest - emperor , HUMA 5 section , astille +1 chamber and nose cone . what I mean by quieter is about 3 whole decibels on my DB meter 3 feet to the side of the muzzle.

all these set ups are well north of $200

the huggett magna was 1-2 DB quieter , also north of $200 ,

The donny sumo was 2-3 DB louder, shogun and ronin were on either side of the standard/snipe huggett by 1 DB . The STO felt like paper mache. It worked equitably to the hugget within a DB or so louder.

I know there are a ton of donnyfl fans but the quieter mods are HEAVY next to the huggett , also cost more. ranus tech also costs more , 0DB also,

HUMA is pretty good with weight and is very effective but it is longer , wider , and more expensive to achieve same effectiveness but they are clearly my second favorite line

huggett magna - big jump in cost , but only for a few DB quieter , maybe 3.

huggett astille - got one with an added section and nose cone knocked noise down 3 DB from the snipe with 3+ extra inches and extra $100

for sleek design , price , performance overall , weight. The huggett snipe / standard to me , is the all around best application. JMHO , Thanks

Just put the snipe on my L2. I was amazed at the sound moderation in such a compact package. I also run it on my wild at mk2. It makes that gun as close to mouse fart as I think it’s going to get at the power level it’s pushing

Really like the Huggett Snipe. The diameter is close the shroud on the Croen and Impact for that matter.

I had a recent experience where I had purchased a used Belita and it arrived short some of the 'innards'. I contacted Huggett directly via email explaining what happened. I received an email (below) within 48 hours.

Subject: RE: Inner moderator replacement product

Hello Mike

Yes we can send you the complete set if innards for the Belita. All I need from you is the calibre of your gun and an address to send the parts to.

It took about 4 weeks, with the overseas shipping and customs, but I received the innards, installed them and all is great.

I returned the email stating the below.

Hello and Good Day to you!

Letting you know that I have received the innards to the Huggett Style 6 Belita and they fit perfectly!

I also wanted to let you know that your service is absolutely wonderful. You have a loyal customer here, even though I already used Huggetts for all of my needs, this put me over-the-top.

Thank you very much for your top-notch product and service.

Hi Mike

Thank you for your kind words.

I’m surprised that took soooooo long to get there!!! But, at least it did this time…..or is it the first one I sent 😬

Regards

Andrew Huggett

Never have owned a high or even middle tier PCP or an over priced pre-manufactured airgun suppressor, but I have made my own suppressors using PVC pipe, hair curlers, washers, Scotch Brite, duct tape, etc, etc, etc...

Although I have never had a "manufactured" airgun suppressor to compare with my own creations, I doubt they would be enough better to justify the price. If they were better at all.

YMMV

I recently strayed away from the Hugget snipe platform, only because of aesthetic reasons. The recent Skout epoch I acquired tapers up in size past the barrel shroud, so using my snipe made it look, well, stupid.
I wanted to stay with huggett and to meet the outer diameter size needed to match the epoch I would need a Magna, but I want it in red, and for some reason here stateside the red magna’s are not available.
Picked up a Huma mod 40, the biggest and longest one Huma makes, and dressed it up with a red carbon fiber wrap out of desperation in keeping with the red and black theme my epoch has, but of recent, I realized the Huma was affecting my accuracy consistency. Never before had I ever witnessed that till now, as my past uses of the huggett snipes(all my major PCP’s use the Hugget Snipe) have never ever caused accuracy issues.
So back to the factory mod I went. Accuracy is stellar, but just wish it was a bit more quieter. The all red looks great, anyway.
Guess I’m gonna have to acquire another pcp platform one day for that Huma mod. Can’t just let it sit and collect dust.

I am also not big on the look of the snipe. The donnyfl stuff looks better to me. Very subjective of course.
