hugget removal royale 400

I removed the Huggett once from a Boss (and also from a Daystate Regal); they were both installed by AOA with loctite. I used a heat gun (electric) and had to get the point of attachment pretty hot, and then apply a lot of force, but no torch needed. Once it was off I used a pick to clean out the threads, and then before reinstalling used a thin film of silicone grease (also on O-ring that's inside) to make it easy to remove in the future. To avoid damaging the finish on both the Huggett and barrell I used a thin layer of leather between vice and grips and the gun components.

I hope this helps: its useful to know that it can be done without a torch, and although it seems like it will never come off, once it starts its quite easy in retrospect. I just wish that AOA did use loctite on them in the first place.
