Huben Hammerless K1

Thank you all. The problem is not in a fill probe as I initially thought. The air is not leaking from the fill probe/airgun connection, but on the quick fill adapter/fill probe connection.

The fill probe is on the quick fill adapter (mounted on 1/8" bspp to the Hill MK4 pump). But the fill probe is loose in it. Member agnsteve had the same problem he mentioned in this thread.

I was not sure if the probe or adapter is to blame until I tried to put the same fill probe on another quick adapter. On the second one it is not loose, but I can't use that one on my pump as it's not BSPP but probably NPT.

Despite that small leakage, I was pumping like hell and somehow topped it to 160 bars.

My eagerness to try the rifle vanished. I will take my old 8x68 Mauser for some instant relief and a hell of a recoil.

Thank you all for suggestions, the third oring really isn't supposed to be pushed in.

I got some of the new hybrids from FX to try with my .25 caliber Huben K1. They were on backorder for several months. I am having a hard time getting them dialed in. The 10 shot group on the left are the hybrid slugs and the group on the left are JSB Heavy MK2.

I am glad I got the FX hybrids for free from Aigun Depot because they don't seem too compatible with the K1. I bought several tins of JSBs and got the hybrids for free (I think it is like buy 2 or 3 get one free, I can't remember because I ordered them months ago).

They get stuck and make it hard to advance the mag a lot too. I had the same problem with H&N Baracudas as well.

I might try and drip some candle wax in the tips of the hybrids to see if that makes them more accurate.

At least the JSB pellets are super accurate.

Huben K1 based question.

Anyone charging their K1 to 5000psi, and if so How, and with what results, (shot count)

I get pretty close to 5000 with my Nomad compressor. I will have to count how many shots I can get. I will try and let you know asap. I wish it wasn't so stinking hot and humid outside or I would go check for you now.

on 2nd thought I think the Nomad can only do 4500 psi.

Hi Mike0

I know your problem with K1 .25 because I have had this problem. I am currently using a custom made slug and have shoot the target at a distance of 255m. The main reason for this is that the size of the bullet is smaller than the magazine so when it hits the barrel it's often in an unbalanced position and that's why it doesn't always hit the target. We have made smaller magazine so that the bullets inside are balanced. Wish you a successful research

Makes perfect sense. Thanks. I sort of figured the slugs wouldn't work out. But I saw lots of positive YouTube videos about them and wanted to give them a try. I should probably just stick to JSB Diablo shaped pellets because they shoot great and they always kill what I shoot. I usually do a 2 shot "double tap" when I hunt any kind of varmint, and I don't hunt over long distance. So I probably don't need a slug anyway.

I have been doing a lot of testing on the Huben in High Power. Looks like there are 3 things to know:

1) Huben needs to have a clean barrel, which is trick to do.

2) Huben needs lots of lube to shoot slugs. The issue is the gun shooting from the magazine. A thicker lube at the head works the best.

3) speed of the projectiles are important 28.5 VK slugs are 1040fpe, monster redesigned are 1060fps, at least in mu gun.

Here is a video in more detail.

thanks for making this! already commented the same thing on youtube, but was just curious if the huben is going to become your main slug gun, and if the leyla/matador are now taking a back seat?

Huben will not replace the r5m, not accurate enough for long range. This huben shoots 60fpe, which is too much power for many situations, like in town and for squirrels. Neither gun is going to be replaced.

Huben is actually going to have a thermal on it. Super high power and flat trajectory semi auto will be perfect night operations.

Kelly from Krazcool Airguns passed along these barrel stats. to me today regarding the 2020 .25.

Huben Manufactured

Twist Rate – 580mm ( 1 in 22.8346457 inches) OR 1 in 23

Groove – 6.45mm

Land – 6.3mm

No Choke

So, this is a .254 barrel, not a .250. Slugs with a diameter of .250 will not work well, or at all, in the Huben. Thought folks would want to know that before ordering slugs. Seems like right now AVS is the only place (that I know. Others can chime in if they know) that is making the .254 diameter slugs.

NSA makes a very nice .223 slug specifically to fit the 2020 .22 Huben barrel. It's 36gr and shoots great. Maybe he'll do the same for the .25.

BTW, the JSB Heavies shoot very well out of my barrel as well. Shooting them about 1050fps. Seems like they are a great pellet choice for this gun.

Wish I would’ve known about the .254 slug size before I ordered my slugs about a year ago. The only slug that did fit was the one I casted from the MPA molds but they did not shoot as well as expected. Supposedly the slugs need to be mixed with tin to make them harder, which would negate any damage done when going from mag to barrel.
IIRC I was emailing NSA about slugs for the .25 and he said he had no luck in his testing. Don’t quote me on that

Those JSB MK2s are the perfect ammo for my huben too. Just wish the mag and barrel were actual .250 and that the mag could accept longer slugs. It’s main reason I just bought an LCS. It can accept a 13mm slug compared to hubens 11mm. There’s guys successfully shooting the 55 gr HP BT out of the LCS, I’d be happy to get any slug shooting well out of my huben
