Huben Hammerless K1

Cernunnos, thank you for history, I was curios about it my self.

I can confirm that my version 1 has the most standard LW airgun barrel with 450 mm twist (about 1:17.7")

look for 5,5mm (.22") air gun with choke 12 mm thick

My version two has LW standard .22 LR barrel with added choke and twist 416 mm (about 1:16.4"):

look for .22l.r.for standard rifle 12 mm thick

Lothar Walther offers barrels with full and half choke. I am not sure if the barrel in version 2 had "full" of "half" choke...

Yesterday my son and I both completed the Airgun Depot Long Ranger 150 and 200 yard challenge!

With the data Gregor provided about the Huben/bullet setup in his video, (thank you Gregor!) I input everything in Chairgun and after the near zeroing of the airgun the holdover worked exactly as calculated! Huben K1 with Huben bulets and the scope used is an MTC 3-12x24 Viper Connect SL.

As targetsetup we used a piece of woodboard with a DIY black shoot'n'see backstop to see our POIs and used a golftee where we put our homemade powder filled "golfballs" on. (we made them of tabletennis balls filled with talcpowder)

150 yards took me just 4 shots and my son 7. During the whole time (around midday) the wind was blowing pretty hard from the left rear quarter during our shooting. But we had to do it on this day, as the forecast for the next and the day after that called for both wind and rain, and the challenge was closing in 2 days.

After we set everything up for 200 yards the wind increased even more in strength so we decided to shoot only one magazine each, as we thought the conditions were gettting too unfavourable. And they were...
But I still managed to graze the ball with a clear mark on the top edge of it but it's integrity was not broken and later during my 19 shots of the magazine I shot the ball down off it's peg, as I hit the golftee the ball was resting on, but no succesfull hit on the ball itself.

After the shots we called it a day and it started raining as well

Then at the end of the afternoon the weather improved again and the wind almost died down, so we gave it another go:

200 yards took me only 3 shots (1 flyer not counted as it was a damaged bullet (it made a fireworks ziiinggg sound when I shot it) and the 200 yards took my son just 2 shots!

Noteworthy is that although I have had some long range firearms experience during my airforce time, (being well over 20 years ago), both my son and my "long range" airgun experience before the challenge consisted of no further out than 44 yards, as that is the max range I can shoot in my garden... So I'd say we did pretty good, but the greatest contribution to that is of course the great airgun equipment that can be had nowadays, and the Huben surely shines in that department!

All in all we had a ball, now my son is editing the videos to submit our entries, so we can collect our trophies!

"hcl"Where you bought huben bullets ??

...
I got them from a man with a grey raincoat and a hat...

Haha just kidding, When I bought my Huben I got a small box of them from the dealer. He got them from Huben as tryout.
I sure hope they will come to the market soon,as I find they are in many ways so much better than regular airgun pellets!
As I ran out of them already, I think I will switch to JSB Beasts for the time, as I read they have a BC of 0.13, which is also a factor 10 better than your normal pellet.

"Instigator"Hi Martin, may I ask you how many clicks and what is your regulator set at? Thanks!
Sure, although remember what Gregor said in his video "...my clicks are not your clicks..." as there are some variances in the guns.
Most imortant is to get the optimum velocity for the pellet used, which is around 300m/s for the Huben bullets.
I changed the springs on the reg to the 2/2/2/2/2 configuration iso the regular 3/3/3/3/3/3. But I'm still not totally satisfied as the reg goes from 180/170 down to about 150/160 before it opens up to go back to 180/170 again. (terrible difficult to read small pressure gage!) And I think I had around 24 clicks.
Again you NEED a chrony to know the exact muzzle velocity of the gun, if not you're just shooting in the dark. Which will work fine for short range work, but for long range you need the Chairgun app to calculate a near zero to setup your scope to be able to get on target fast.

Is the Facebook huben page really huben?
I do want to know, and it may well be, never can keep up with who the real importer is, who makes what....

That FB page lists a huben web link which goes to
hubenonline . com
registered in Fla.

Here is a list of huben distrubutors:
http://www.hubenairguns.com/contact.html

and a special notice stating they have ONLY 1 email address

And, after ALL the reading I JUST caught the 5,000psi max fill, teehee, whish I could. And sure naturally you could just fill to 3-4,000 but ........... Still a rather cool design.

IF someone like PA ( a listed huben dealer ) would carry them and parts I personally think they would sell even if a .177 springer is more fun in the long haul.
