How to remove the end cap from an FX air tube?

I tried removing the brass valve end from my FX Cyclone air tube so I can install a regulator, but it's stuck on tight. It looks like it's supposed to come off easily in YT videos There's a hole on the side meant for inserting something to gain leverage. I used the largest allen key that would fit, and I only managed to bend the allen key and deform the hole.

I've released all the pressure by fully depressing the valve, so that isn't the problem.

Any tips for getting a grip on the brass without marring the finish too badly?

I don't know the correct name but I think it's a "Pin Spanner" you need. Semi-spherical spanner with a pin which engages that hole (the spherical..er..ness is meant to match the tube or valve diameter, of course.

However, I also think :) a strap wrench will do the job, if you can get it onto the valve brass rim.

PS. an old leather belt can be made into a strap wrench quite easily.
