I understand, my dad is

almost 82, former gun dealer and has one of every caliber made. He cannot shoot his big bore WWII rifles any more and cant believe how accurate, silent and powerful airguns are today. But..., he can come with me to the range anytime he wants to shoot it. :) Thanks for sharing.

Great story Gabe. That may be the best post I've ever read on this forum.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you sir,

i think we are all on edge. Some due to overwhelming work, some due to work being taken away from them. Quarantine, illness. Doom and gloom. I figured sharing a positive light hearted post would do us all good. Instead of me asking for advice all the time, lol.

I dread the day my dad goes home. So I am trying to not wait for a fellow doctor to use the term end stage something before i wake up. I was in residency when my grandparents declined across the ocean. I didnt get a chance due to training to leave to see my grandmother before God called her home. Still struggle with that failure.

Anyways,

thank you for all the kind words, but this hopefully didnt sound like about me, but my awesome dad and trying to make everyone smile / laugh a bit on here.

God bless you all

Thank you for sharing your story. I can tell you it put a tear in my eye.

Lost my dad about a year ago,

I am sure you know this, but enjoy him while you can...

TIME - is the ultimate 4 Letter word... We all know a bunch of 4 letter words.. most are considered bad words.

The worst one of all, is TIME... you get so much of it to spend with loved ones, use it wisely, or regret it later.

You did it wisely.

THANK YOUR FOR YOUR COVID 19 WORK.. I know its gotta be stressful, wish I could buy your a bourbon or ____ ...

Wow, firstly thank you for being on the front line and helping so many in need and secondly thank you for making this post, it's a stark reminder of how far so many have strayed from the right path, doing the right thing should not be the extra ordinary thing, it should be second nature and come without thinking. We have, as a society migrated from selfless to selfish in a very short time...

Your gift has more worth than an FX MK11, outstanding post and thank you once again for reminding us all what matters most in life...

disclaimer

(Before anyone gets upset. The back stop is in my yard, behind it is the forest reserve not houses. And I also have trees in my yard. At no time did we aim or place our targets with homes in the background. I built the back stop with 1/2 wood and a lot of soft plumbers putty. I have not seen a pellet go through and exit yet)

second disclaimer. I love to grow my own veggies. So ignore my gardening chaos in the background. Lol.

Thank you again everyone. I told my dad about the thread and he laughed in a good way. Came back for round 2 today. So I snuck some photos in.

His bipod came in today and .30 barrel kit that I forgot to give yesterday to him. Put on a Nikon Pro Staff scope with Cantaliver mount (works better for him with his eyes)

Walked in to the house with a grin and grinned the whole time. Kept muttering “what a kick in the head”:)

i think of my dad every day since we lost him in 1998.

he was born in 1913...enlisted in the U.S. Army Cavalry in 1932, went to banana wars, WWII and Korea.

it's truly sad when we lose someone as dear to us. we can never replace these men we call "Dad" they molded us into who we are now.

we owe them a debt of gratitude.

thanks for sharing...👍

Wow! That’s awesome all the way around. I’m glad I stopped by to read it. Definitely tugged at my heart strings. Very heartwarming & inspiring. I wish I could share my passion for Airguns with my father. He suffered a bad stroke over 17 years ago & remains paralyzed on the right & unable to speak, bedridden now. You are a blessed man beyond measure. Thanks for sharing your story.

I feel for you. I can just imagine. I went as a son through this, and as a doctor. My dad had four strokes in one day 5 years ago. It was devestating. Thank God, we have managed his health since then and he went to rehab for a few months. Was able to recover most. Still has days here and there. Memory isn’t perfect and balance sometimes is....

but I’m just glad he is here every day.

God bless you

glad this could make you all smile.
