Is there an official prescribed method to degas the Commander? I read suggest partly unscrewing the pressure gauge. That seems like it would create an opportunity for leaks.

That is the correct way to do it. Just unscrew slowly until you hear air start to leak out and let it sit for about 5 minutes or so until all the air is gone. Then unscrew a little more to ensure all the air is out.

Thanks. I lowered it back to pushing 15-18 grainers between 830-900 fps. It is a better performance to power balance for the Commander Hi-lite.

Hi, I own a Brocock Commander Hi-Lite, through happenstance I realized the best way to degas is shoot down past the regulator, say 130 bar, and leave it uncocked. A week or so later and it should show 0PSI. Hope this helps.
I've only had leak-down issues in this one circumstance and have none since. I tend to keep it cocked and/or pressure above 150 bar.
