How to deal with Impact barrel locator pin

Finally decided to do a few things to my gen 1.5 Impact-X as I have an M3 on the way so will not be needing all of the high power mods I did to it. So thought I would dumb it down a little and, while doing so, fix the barrel locator pin problem I have had for awhile.

Need to replace the sear and the loading block pin too as I shot it quite a few times with the loading block open. My Bad!

Probly pull the, modified for higher pressure, Huma reg out and put the stock FX unit back in too as I have a good regulator rod to use now.

OK, how do I deal with this? It looks like I have to drill this pin out of the rear block is that right? Is it just a pin or is it threaded? I don't see it on any of the the FX schematic sheets.

Barrel inlet locating slot getting damaged

Had to tear it apart this far so I could replace the reg as well.

Yes I could see how it could be done but I ground the pin flat and tried with a drill press and had no luck. I can also see that a smallish hole drilled through the bottom of the block and up to the pin could possibly be used to punch the pin out.

My other thought was how does a hardened steel pin, and it is hardened, get broken or smashed down by a piece of brass?

Just found this so looks like I will be needing another part actually two because my .25 barrel inlet is messed up too. So looks like it was not just lately this happened after all there is just to much damage to the two barrel inlets.

Things happen when you are trying to have fun.

I have had it just over three years now.

I ordered a (spare) rear block on time because a friend of my CNC shop didn't wanted to do a transfer port T-cutter mod (a 7.2mm hole slotted out to 7.5x9.2 mm) on the original piece, so when I got to a point to assemble the power upgrade parts (and I could not pull out the original dowel) I just cut a piece of dowel and throw it in. Not even glue it in just put that pin in loose....can't go anywhere.
