How tight should my valve be?

"Bizill"I just got my Chinese (I know...) carbon fiber wrapped tank and wondered this as well. I just went hand tight and it bottoms out so I figured the o-ring will take care of the rest.

ETA: Yes, I have a compressor. No, no DOT so I probably won't be getting it and can't get it hydro'd. Yes, I could die.
Ive always had a hard time figuring out how that when the all the stuff comes over on the boat from China and upon arrival the magic label of American companies gets slapped on all ills are cured.

People assume they've gone through a more rigorous testing stage or something. To an extent, they might. Basically just about EVERYTHING from ANYWHERE was originally manufactured in China these days. How many lemons get past quality control? Bad things happen regardless the brand label on it. Of course the only exception to this rule are the Taipans!!!! Although they are not made in China, either.

The thing is these cylinders DON'T have that magic label. If you check the US Code and see what these bottles actually need, and then you look closely at the bottles you will find that they do NOT meet the DOT nor the UN/ISO requirements.......as do most of the Chinese Knock off goodies.
Pull the pics on some of these and show me one with a "UN" symbol or a complete ISO #. Funny how all of the advertising pic seems to never show this.

Personally i could see someone trying to save $$ on a "Tac Light" or a "6-24 Scope for $40" but when it comes to the issues involved with 4500psi of pressure (especially if you have other shooters close by as in competitions) I just can't see it.
