How often do you clean your barrel with JB bore paste?

JB bore paist.. if it removes steel it will therefore remove lead as lead is way softer than steel.

I can scratch lead with my finger nails but was never able to do that on steel. so therefore a few passes of the rod

with jb will the job done on the lead before it removes steel.

also different kinds of rifleing will act differently to different kinds of polishing.. so a lw 12 grove is different than a poly lw barrel and fx smooth twist and x twist.

and please remember air gun barrels are way softer than centerfire barrels...so caution must be used.

but I see no reason not to use bore paiste on an airgun barrel... just don't use it like you would on a cf barrel

but jb will do a great job on lead definitely. hope this helps guys

i do know that cleaning a fx barrel is going to be different to clean a rifled barrel. and with air gun barrels they sure don't need to be cleaned a lot. but then again depends on how much they are shot. most lead build up is in the choke are I take it. and as always a faster air gun usally requires more cleaning. if your getting top notch accuracy out of your barrel no need to scrub it out.

id say once ever 6 mo to a year and some times only once ever for that barrel.. and don't over polish as lead can stick even more to the barrel. as ive done quite the bit of research on this subject nd apparently it has been known to happen.

so because I made a comment on this post trying to help the person who made this post and somone who read my post gave me a bad accuracy point and trying to make me look bad.i only come here to help people and to get help sometimes. so just because I give a comment or opinion on jb bore paiste dosent mean I don't know what im talking about. or that you know what your talking about.. I think its pointless to try and come here to help people only to get a bad accuracy point for doing so.

The only problem with a brass brush in air guns is the O-Ring that seals the chamber. Other than the O-Ring, I fully agree, brass brushes can't damage the barrels. You should find a way to protect that O-Ring if you want to use a brass brush. I suspect that JB Bore Paste will also abrade or rot the O-Rings. Just be careful, clean the residue out and you will probably never know the difference.

Oh, and I do agree that many of the cleaning methods we take as facts are just myth. So many ways to do the same thing, lots of myth crept in.

aa: I would never clean a leaded barrel with jb paste. Instead of eroding the lead I envision the grit becoming embedded in the lead. By your logic it is a good idea to use a grinding wheel on aluminum. It is my opinion that it is best to use a brass or bronze brush with a one piece rod to scrub out those corners in the lands/grooves. Giving a final polish with jb after all the lead is removed might be a good idea.

I will review Accuracy scores tomorrow & if someone gave you a (-) for an honest opinion then they will be repremanded.
