How much FPE is your 22 cal producing?

If thats Arsenal molds bullet you use its 60grainish what it drops and its not even close to be stable in 1:14

That is firearm stability calculator and Im fairly sure there is an error with subsonic velocities. Sub mach1 requires alot faster twist than mach 2+ flight speeds these calculators are made for so its even more unstable than that number presents.

According to that you would need atleast 1:11 and to be safe 1:10.

I dont get where you have this idea you cant use faster twist. Lead bullets take it well thing where you start to need copper jacket is supersonic speeds not really that much related to twist. Andre from Altaros just shot new world record with air rifle and he used 60gr bt bullet with 1:9twist and that 4500psi custom gun in here uses super fast twist too.

Now to second subject how did you manage to get your 257 intended AF valve work with 217barrel? I know for a fact that 257 texan valve tankdumps if you try to fit such an barrel for it.

Anyhow some impressive numbers no doubt about that I just dont see how you managed to alter laws of physics.

First off my gun is not a texan with an oem valve , secondly that problem is easily cured with spring rates

Lastly on how the law of PHYSICS didnt relate to my guns ballistics

I think you need to look what you typed in to the JBM program for inputs , however this is not a good program for this .

but if you must use it at least re look at your inputs before saying how I defied the laws of Physics look at what you put in on your inputs .

rule 1 garbage in = garbage out

Well even upping barrel size to 224, lifting weight to 67gr while leaving lenght same its not stable at 1000fps at 1/14tw. Alltho I fully agree with you that most of those are off especially what comes to really slow subsonic speeds 700-950fps. Yes I know your valve is not texan valve but AF valves have terrible habbit to tank dump if you try to fit too small barrel for too big valve and I was bloody curious how an earth did you get it to work. It must be on a small side for 257? But massive for 22. Also you never mentioned what barrel you are using that why I used. 217 but I suppose you are using 1:14 TJ 224cal?

no you put input wrong with first the slugs I made ,I modified the ELvis mold , but The input I am talking about is you put 17.145 mm

where did you get this length ?

ok on my condor , I do run a .22 and a 257 barrel , I use a 28 inch LW barrel in the .257 and I am running a LW 29 inch barrel in my 22 calibers , They both are not sold in the blank section Of LW , I had ordered what I wanted during build and sold off my other barrels back then , as you got to buy 10 barrels to have a custom size from them ,

I own 2 of the .257 barrels one is mine from LW , the other was done by RL airguns I had him ream out 1/2 in in breech and polish and crown at time he did a spot on job , he had also made some of my .22 cal barrels back then , I hav been using slugs for decades not just last few years , I have tried and tested many things with many platforms ,

Now on my airforce for valving I still probably have a half dozen valves I had PCP tunes in INDIA build me many 1 of a kind Angled valves with various sized specs able to shoot over 325fpe in small calibers , and I have many weights and springs when I used to tune them , (this was over 14 years ago)

My condor is by far my most powerful and long range gun ,However

I only shoot it maybe 1 time a year and I shoot pretty much every day I am able to go outside , I can shoot in my yard and now being locked down I am going threw alot of lead lol

here is an angled valve my real powerful ones I had designed with no gages or fills , but the 150fpe ones yes they are with gages and fills .

That gun is just too big and long lol , I can almost spear my game with it , it is not practical to hunt with a gun like this in woods , I use my guns like ed guns and taipans for hunting or my leshiy but this thread asked about power not my favorite hunting setups

Standard arsenal 225-61gr "Elvis" is 17.145mm long and it drops out to be 60gr'ish. So I assume from the shape and weight that your 67gr'r cant be much shorter. I maybe wrong tho. I didnt even know you can get LW barrel as 224 with such an slow twist seeing its practically unusable in firearms but I assume you can get what ever as custom order then. All airgun shooters that use 224 here prettymuch agree that you cant really overstabilize bullet with an airgun and subsonic speeds and they have shot alot from 30 all the way to 80gr:s with super fast twistrates without getting any signs from overstabilization on any distances but on otherhand too slow of an tr will defo let you know. I dont know man subsonic ballistics is so unknown territory that I assume testing is the only way to get valid results.

Lol I totally get what you mean by too big and too long.. Guns like these are bench guns lol. Lucky for us or unlucky how ever you want to see it we are not allowed to shoot anything with air in Finland.

2018 Huben K1 .22 shooting 25 gr JSB at 930 fps with 130 bar setting on reg for 48 ft lbs. With two clicks down on adjuster I can shoot the 14.3 gr Crosman Ultramags at 935 fps for 27 ft lbs. Works great for bird pesting. It will go higher and lower but I found these settings to work great for me.

Center group is the 25 gr JSB and top group is cpum.

Poa was center diamond for 25's and tip of diamond for 14.3. Distance was 35 yards. My first shot went high with cpum. Not sure if it was me or bad pellet, etc..

My favorite right now is an unregulated AEA HP Varmint that does 39.4 fpe for 50 shots with 20.2 gr. NSA HP slugs. Extreme variation from 2100 psi to 1200 psi is 25 fps...925 fps up to 950 fps and back down. It groups the NSA’s inside a third of an inch at 43 yards if I do my part. What’s nice about this Gun is the shear simplicity coupled with efficiency. No adjustments available short of swapping out parts. A purposeful critter gitter.

42 FPE using JSB 25.39 Ultra Shocks in .22 out of my 250mm barreled Leshiy. That is 1 foot from the muzzle and quite loud.

I cranked it up to see what it could do and promptly tuned it back to 15 FPE. I only tried a few NSAs from my sampler but haven't slugged my barrel, and haven't felt any desire to see what the top end is on this little .22 pop-gun. But 40+ FPE with almost no effort is plenty for my needs- especially since I'm not shooting over 40 yards at anything now.

If I assume I can get up ~ 940 FPS with these Ultra Shocks, which I'm fairly sure it can do, I'm just south of 50 FPS. That will wreck anything I'd be shooting in my backyard.

The Jkhan on the left I have set at 45 ft lbs with Dale riggert 24 grain swagged slugs. It has a power adjustment like a rainstorm, it will hit 60 ft lbs with 30 grain bbt.

The third gun to the right is an ace precision .22 that at 2400 psi shoots the huben cast 34.5 slugs from Dale at 940 ish... about 70 ft lbs. I haven’t had a chance to take it to 3000 psi. Probably 75-80 ft lbs is my guess. I’d like to try some heavier ammo in it.
