How many use swfa scopes .

I had a 16x42 ss mil quad, I tried hard to like the scope but sold it. The eye relief was so bad it needed 2 sunshades to be usable, ever then the eye box was so tight your eye needed to be dead center to see. I would get headaches and blurred vision every time I shot for over 5 minutes. These scopes are built like a tank mechanic outstanding, but not easy on the eye at 16 power. I replaced it with a Sightron S TAC 3-16×42 100 % better scope for a little more money.

I've owned several over the years in both fixed and variable power. Currently own a FFP 3-15 which I have mounted on an Impact. I previously had it on a Mutant. I had never experienced the eye box issues others have described here until I moved it from the Mutant to the Impact. Strangely enough, I found that I needed extra high scope rings with it on the Impact to get a consistently clear view. Someone recently offered to buy my SWFA, but I decided not to sell it even though I was thinking about something with additional magnification for the Impact. I was planning to pick up a 4.5-27 Forge, but an Athlon Ares came up for sale on the classifieds here and I decided to give that a look. I am anxious to try it and see how the glass compares. The SWFAs are basically indestructible and track perfectly with outstanding glass for their price points, and they also focus down to very short ranges which is important for some of us. If I like the Ares, I may ultimately sell the SWFA rather than let it sit unused but I like it enough I might just have to buy another rifle to mount it on :).
