How many use swfa scopes .

I was at the SWFA store in Midlothian when I compared an SWFA scope to vortex, Sightron, and Leupold scopes with similar features. I passed on the SWFA because the reticle lines seemed especially thick compared to all the others. The lines got thinner as the price increased. I thought the vortex was pretty good, but I tried to use it at a long range powder burner match and I couldn’t see mirage or other details needed for wind calls and poi determination. I’ve upgraded to a Schmidt now. I will probably sell the Vortex.

I have 3 of the 20x milquad. Although it is not common to see them used in field target, i use them for open class as well as general pest shooting. I really like the reticle. The clicks are repeatable. They've held up to HW50s and HW77K recoil without dampa or bullseye mounts. I'm working my way around to putting one on a Beeman RX2, which I think will be the ultimate test of their springer resistance. Although, I might go with a bullseye mount for the RX2.

Interestingly, one of them has much better glass than the other two. The best of the three is pretty clear while the other two are a little murky and dark. The best one came off the "sample list" and the other two were bought new. Dunno if the sample list scope is older stock or what, but it is nicer to look through.

There is a little bit of temperature sensitivity when using them to range by focus, but seems fairly predictable. What I've found is that they range a few yards long at the further distances when the temps are higher than when distances were calibrated.

For $300, I think a guy can do worse than SWFA without trying very hard.

I have a 10X and a 3-15X42 FFP, like them both... however, like you, quick target acquisition is a bit challenging.

I recently bought a Bushnell Forge 3-18X50, awesome glass, great turrets, and very quick to target. I have it mounted on my RedWolf. It kicks butt!

Is your forge FFP or SFP. Also which reticle?

My Forge is an SSP with the Deploy MOA reticle.

I also had a SWFA 20x. The eye box was just too small for me.
