How many of you think you’re too deep into this thing

I don't think I am too depp. I am just getting started. I was exposed to this hobby when I was a teen-ager , which was back in the late 70's. My dad had bought a crosman multi-pump that I was shooting in our backyard. I left home for college and didn't revisit this hobby again until around 2002 and left it again about a year later. Now for the present, I just got back into this in the past year during the pandemic. So, I am just getting started and I bought my first pcp a year ago and already I am looking to buy two more.

I did post that thing about canceling a extornionist-priced pellet order.

That was 2 (two) days ago.

Now see what I did.... 🙄

•I just bought a scope.
•For a gun I don't own
•Actually, I don't even know what gun that might be.
•To tell you the truth: I have absolutely no money toward any gun whatsoever (Christmas and birthday $$ already used up).

That doesn't sound like I am too deep into this thing, does it? It doesn't, right? Right?!? 🤔

I knew I was in deep when I set aside money for a w31 compressor knowing I did not want a stopgap compressor. Well I blew my w31 money. I bought another pcp instead.

So im still refilling the medium size fill tank (tiger shark?) and hand pumping to extend the times between fills. 🙄

And even more stupid is the fact I cannot really shoot this thing at the house and have been going a hour and a half away so I can shoot more than 50 yards once every two weeks! WTH?

Yeah. Not the smartest cookie.

Allen,

no, you don't need health services, you don't have any condition requiring such a drastic step.

It sounds completely reasonable

• to buy something you didn't plan for (airgun),

• that really doesn't work well with the equipment you currently own (hand pump),

• but requires you to spend an inordinate amount of time to just get to use it (1.5h drive),

• and is extremely limited in its usability (once every two weeks).

You're fine.

Trust me. I know.

Carry on.

Curious as to how many folks instead of watching the news or grabbing the newspaper first thing in the am with a cup of coffee, open up AGN instead.

Or, how many of us take the iPad to the bathroom as reading material while doing the doo, and read up on AGN current topics?

Other signs of being too deep into this thing-

when your search engine is all airgun related topics

when you constantly look around your backyard for a better, longer, target set up

when the topic of this hobby gets brought up in conversation by you, to anyone you talk to during the day

you start going thru your automotive and handyman tools and find tools out of that for pcp use only

you walk into a fabric or hobby store like Michael’s with your wife, and go off on your own in search of something towards this hobby

When you receive shipments that have parts come in zip baggies you save all those baggies for possible pcp parts

the list can go on and on

Temptations is part of my problem. Once a week I drive into the city for supplies and unfortunately I pass AGS. A main airgun supplier in Canada. My wife’s no help she says aren’t you going in there for a scope. Today I picked up a hawk air max 30 WASF 3rd week in a row, new set of eyes for my 98. I haven’t missed a stop in there since June. OH Pick me! Pick me! Lol. I am in DEEP. Sad thing is, nobody somewhat close to me geographicly is an airgunner. Makes for lonely days out shooting. I only have 3 rifles (.25 Armada, .25 SK-19, .457 CF Texan) about 7 scopes, 6 Red Dot scopes, 2 compressors, well over 10,000 pellets and slugs in varying weights and brands, and close to 10,000 slugs just for my Texan. Not to mention new shooting bench, chrono, bipods and tripods, and stacks upon stacks of targets. And this bug bite still itches! Lol
