How many of you shoot springers and PCPs?

I shoot both springer's and PCP's and maybe I'm just easily aroused but springer's still turn me on. The PCP's are so much easer to shoot - it takes better technique to shoot a springer and making the shot I find more rewarding. Knocking a crow off the top of a Cypress at 45 yards with a .177 springer is a hoot - missing it with a PCP and you should turn in your Sheriff John Badge and hang it all up. Hold, and follow through is so important with a springer. Important with a PCP but a bit more tolerant. If you learn to shoot a piston gun well, your PCP and powder burner shooting will be improved as well.

Yup, I shoot both. I love my Disco and Marauder for their power and ease of operation, but I love my springers for the challenge and lack of needed "support equipment" (grab pellets, rifle, and go all day). I also like taking the springers apart and improving them. The PCP's are a little more complicated, and I need more experience before I become as comfortable tinkering with them as I am with the spring guns.

I have a couple of big bore PCPs and they satisfy my need to employ better discipline. Try shooting a 200+ FPE big bore and it will certainly make you pay attention to technique if you want to hit anything.

I have never had a traditional springer. About a year ago I bought a .177 Nitro Venom from Crosman. Back then I never knew what was possible with air rifles and never heard of PCPs. So 2 months ago I was youtubing and found Teds and Matts videos and got an epiphanny(or inspired).
Today I'm waiting for my .25 Wildcat. Itchy triggerfinger is an understatement.

I shot a springer last about 7 years ago. Visited my home where I stayed as a kid, opened my cupboard and there it was::: my old springer in .22. Remember many a bird shot which I with that gun. Took it out, shot a couple of rounds through it (it's still super accurate at 30 yards) and laid it back to rest in its place. It was fun catching up with the old springerooo but once you go PCP, it's difficult to kinda enjoy the springer experience anymore.
