How many of you shoot Crosman Domed Pellets?

I noticed that my prosport shot the brown box cpl's pretty good last week. Enough for my cousin to do me a unexpected favor. He bought me a box of 10.5gr domed brown box Crosman Premiers. I learned from shooting about 2 weekends ago that my rifle don't care for heavy pellets. Maybe because of her tune, who knows. Basically I am wondering if the 10.5gr Premiers work for any of you, especially in a 12ft/lb rifle?

I use Crosman Premier pellets in 5 PCP rifles and 1 PCP pistol now..
In my case, the .22 cal 14.3 gr Hollow Points, but, close enough.. And amazingly, they shoot Very well.
I mainly use them during the winter - when shooting indoors - on the lowest adjustable power settings..
With very low power, they're ridiculously accurate, but on higher powers w/ faster fps, they're all over the place..
Either way, as mentioned above, they're great to use for helping to lead in the barrels after thorough cleanings..
Walmart sells the .22 cal tins of 500 for like $7.00, so I grab a few tins if/when I'm in there just to keep a bunch on hand.

My last box had 2” flyers in every 10 shot group. I sent them back and got a refund as that is unacceptable. My latest JSB’s are also worthless but I can’t return those. H&N have been and are the most consistent and accurate(barricade hunters). I cleaned my barrel, no help, but I can go back to my known good pellets and print ragged holes so I know it’s the pellets

I have found that crosman “premier” domes are fair when their good but finding a tin that is good can be a crapshoot, what I’m saying is that whom ever makes these pellets for crosman has a quality control issue that has a lot to be desired. Too many tins of badly deformed pellets, that’s why my money goes to JSB’s.

^^^ This.

I like the Premiers when they are accurate, but I bought another tin and I had flyers all over. I switched to H&N FTT's and they respond much better to my rifle, sub-MOA groups always at 30 yards.

I question Crosman's quality when it comes to pellets, scopes, etc. Rifles, yes, everything else: meh.

I shoot the Crosman Premier Domed 14.3 gr from Tractor Supply almost exclusively in my Gamo Urban. I routinely get 10 shots in one jagged whole at 25 yards.

That's a 10 shot group. Not sure if the one that strayed slightly low was me or a "flier."

BEN342R,

Yuuup! I used to have Great luck with JSBs, but the last handful of tins I've tried, the pellets have been absolute garbage..
Bent skirts to the point that they can't be used at all, Not uniform - Some thicker some thinner - Head diameter issues.. Unreal..
That's the whole reason I even gave the Crosmans a whirl, and I'm glad that I did..
Same conclusion - I also us H&N, and to be honest, in .22 cal, I use them pretty much exclusively, and they work Great!
Cleaner, more consistent, Not Damaged, etc.. The way that it 'should be'.
For .25 cal, all I have are the JSBs, and they shoot fantastic.
JSB uses a much softer lead compound, so, IMO, their pellets are just way too prone to damage..
H&N uses a harder lead compound, and Crosman pellets are hard enough that they might as well be steel BB's. 🤣

I recently purchased a .22 Hatsan Gladius. Several reviews had stated it to be pellet picky and had noted H&N Barracuda's shot well for most of the reviewers so I ordered some before I received the rifle. They did shoot well. Crosman Premier Hollow Points by far shoot best in that rifle. Probably will depend on each person's individual rifle.

I've been shooting CPHPs in both .177 and .22 for several years, along with various H&N (both calibers) and JSB (both calibers) pellets. In my springers the H&N 8.64 gr pellets were the best, though the Crosmans were fine for plinking.

Last Summer I bought my first PCP, a .177 Marauder, and have tried many pellets through it. To my delight and surprise, the Crosman 7.9 gr Domes are far and away the preferred pellet for that gun. I mainly buy the brown box of 1250 pellets from online sellers but only because I can never find the 7.9 Domed in stores around me. I did try the 10.5 Domed Crosmans, which my springers liked, but the results were less than stellar. H&N 8.64 FFTs do pretty well in my M-rod but the CPDs at 7.9 gr are the best pellets I've found. Sub one-inch groups at 50 yards on an outdoor range is the norm with those pellets for me. Indoors at 12 yards (my max at home) they are single-hole on the rare occasions that I try to accomplish that type of shooting. Mostly I move from target to target indoors; I bore easily and have to vary the target challenge a lot.

I have to agree with Martin that getting a good tin is a crapshoot. I have noticed when shooting in my Gamo Mach 1 some would drop in the chamber while others fit snuggly. I started measuring them and found head size to range as low as 5.25mm. They shot poorly in the Gamo but if I sorted and shot 5.45mm and larger they shot well out of my Marauder. I use them in the Marauder indoors to save a little money and sorting with a calipers while watching TV makes it less time wasting.

I've had my Gladius for a while now, and it really likes H&Ks and JSBs [When the JSBs aren't all mutilated straight out of the tin]
They fire best on the higher power settings - usually levels 5 and 6.
For indoor plinking at my 10 meter range, I'll put it on power levels 3 and 4 and shoot the Crosman Premiers.. They Work Amazing!
I had 3 out of 4 PCP rifles that Loved them. Now I have 5 out of 6. Every Single Tin Of CPs has had nearly perfect pellets in it!
Like I said before, I just snag the 600 count tins at WallyWorld if/when I'm there. I've gone through at least 4 full tins now,
only had to throw out a few pellets here and there, and I have a few more tins still to go through..

Anyways..

You brought up the Gladius firing them - So, here's a video of My Gladius firing them.. I actually just posted it this week:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDIy29cuDQ4

Here's a list of my guns that absolutely love the CPs [in .22 cal / 14.3gr]
ATI Nova Vista Freedom, Hatsan Gladius, Kral Puncher Breaker, Artemis P15, Artemis PP700S-A [Pistol]
The only rifle so far that doesn't like them - and spits em' out like a shotgun birdshot pattern is my Kral Puncher Nemesis..
That rifle - Even on power-level 1 just seems to be just a bit too powerful. Too any FPS - at least for close-range..

👍🙂
