How many FT shooters?

I have no idea how many there are but I just bought a new to me mac1 to give it a try . I hope I can get some other people here in southern Ohio to shoot with me . There is a FT club in central Ohio . And a youth club here in southern Ohio but there very small and still over an hour away . Plus I'm far from being a youth ....lol. I also have a mac1 knee riser / and a thigh rest coming from another member

The one I purchased is the same one that Ted from Ted's holdover does a review on in 2011.

Nice rig! Love the green! How much does yours weigh? I have one that was set up for BR it has a long heavy bbl and weighs close to 20#s. I’ve been thinking of sending it to Timmy and have him replace the long air tube with a reg. CF bottle and shorten the bbl to make it more manageable for FT. Hope you find a FT club within reasonable driving distance. Uj

Dankielman, There is a "new this past year" Field Target club in your area called Fairfield Sportsman club airgunners near Cincinnati. They have a very nice F/T course and would welcome you as a new shooter. Congrats on your new gun and I'm certain you will like F/T shooting and the people that you shoot with will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you get started with setting up your equipment and so forth. Hope to meet you sometime next summer at an Ohio shoot!! There are five F/T clubs in Ohio so there are shoots somewhere most every weekend!! J.L.

That's an interesting question. Of course, depends on what constitutes a FT shooter. Someone who has a few targets in their back yard? Someone going to matches? Etc. All in all though, I'd give a guess of about 350. I base that off of is how many people I see at grand prix tournaments here in the East (Crossman, PA), and reading the match reports on this forum.

I would guess there are a good bit more than you think. I have a field target range on my property and there are between 3 and 10 of us that shoot weekly when the weather is good. We are all old guys and girls. We shoot for fun and don't belong to AFTA or anything else so no record of what we do. Any other groups out there like ours?

You may be right. Hopefully you are right. 😊

Thanks Chas!

Thanks guys I hope I like it (FT that is ) I already love the mac1 . I talked to Tim at mac1 and It is going to Tim to have him go through it replace all the orings and bring it up to the gen 3 status.

I hope to set up a course in my woods I have 17 acres of woods that no one messes around in I am going to try to get it set up for next spring . Now I need to start looking for the best place to buy some targets .

Thanks for all the info on the Ohio ft groups I will look into it more
