How many FT shooters, would like worlds in the USA?

Why can't AAFTA start working with the NRA and have our national matches and the Worlds here: http://www.nrawc.org

They have 30,000 acres and facilities to handle large matches. It would give our sport a lot of exposure if we were somehow affiliated with the NRA. Surely the NRA would work with AAFTA and let us set up a FT course on 5-10 acres of their 30K. We could store the AAFTA targets, etc. there. It's in the middle of the country so it's an equally pita for everyone to get too. As for the Worlds it would be a beautiful and impressive outdoor experience for those traveling from outside the USA. They would also have the oppertunity to shoot firearms (between match entertainment) they can't in their home country. We are all fourtunate enough we can shoot firearms so we take it for granted. I bet it would be a pretty big deal for people who can't. Something they will go home and talk about.

We just had the USARB Nationals there...,and I will be putting on some sort of FT match there next September 24-27. It’s gonna be a money match, so it may or may not be associated with AAFTA. Its an awesome place. They are open to accommodating air rifle shooters in any way they can. Super great bunch of people over there. They can accommodate 200 shooters on site in cabins and dorm type competitor housing.

I mentioned this before, and nobody seemed to show any interest.

Sounds awesome!

I may be in the minority here but I've always been disappointed that the two day matches like Nationals are always Sat/Sun. It makes more sense to me to have it Fri/Sat to allow for people to travel back home on Sunday for work on Monday. Just my opinion but I'd be a lot more likely to be able to make it if the schedule works out as Fri/Sat (assuming you're planning to mirror a two day, Nationals-like shoot).

Yep, most of the time I have Friday, Saturday, Sunday off. My weekend falls every fifth week and then I work those three days. I have 4/5 "weekends" off, consisting of Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I work more Mondays than Fridays. We staff 24/7 so weird schedules, overnights, evenings, etc. The only silver lining is getting three day weekends most of the time. Would kill for an 8-5, Mon-Friday situation like most have. I already assumed I would be in the minority-just hoping.

Greg,

2007 at Roz's Hollow was the first airgun match that I had ever been to. I was in for life, however long that may be. I've been lucky to be able to shoot there ever since.

I don't remember, but Roz had three courses there that year. Red, White and Blue courses. We are down to only the white course now. The three courses may have

been at the Nationals that year. Would like to see the World's come over here, but probably wouldn't try to compete due to health reasons.

There has been some talk about having it in the mid-west, somewhere up north in October or November. The weather could be a real problem there. There is a

course in Missouri that might work, but don't know if there is enough interest there for airgun competition. Heflin, AL could have been a great place to have the

World's, but that won't happen now.
