How low can you go?

"Goodtogo"Its a shooting forum. When you ask a question expect some answers that has nothing to do with what you ask. The trick is too ignore what you don't like and say thanks for what you do like? ;)
I am a member in a ton of forums, and they all are pretty much the same, so I am used to that part. What I am not used to is that people can actually give you negative feedback based on their opinion about you. If you really think about it, it kind of defeats the purpose of an open forum. Feedback should be for transactions only.

That said, if AGN really feels like, a "normal" feedback system of some sort should be implemented, than they should have a thread where people can post "feedback" and comments about fellow members. That way you can see who likes or dislikes you, and so can others. Most forums do it this way. I am sure AGN will as well, down the road.

Thanks,

Kmd

p.s. you comment just earned you some accuracy points. : )

"kmd1984"Not that it matters, but I noticed that people gave me negative "accuracy" points, based on this thread. They called me Rude and a Jerk. LOL. Really? I hope it made you fell better.

Kmd
You got a negative accuracy ( was not me who gave it to you), because Oldspook gave you a GREAT alternative to your issue and "like a kid" you blew off the "old guy".
Dude: instead of tuning down your .25 beast that can shoot out to 100 yards and only gets a few shots (still gets like 40 doesn't it?), it would be better to purchase a smaller caliber that uses less air and gets a TON of more shots. The range at what you are shooting would be better suited for a .22 or .177.
Generally speaking, if you can afford a Bobcat, most likely, you can afford another rifle. I have several rifles, each has different specs, and each can be used for a different purpose. When we hunt ground squirrels (under 50 yards), I use a .22 so I get more shots, when I am hunting prairie dogs that are further than 50 yards, I would choose a .25 caliber over a .22.
So........I thought Oldspook gave you some good advise. It might have been better to take his comment, and l"eave it", rather than to chastise him. I am sure he will no longer offer advise to you again. FYI- Oldspook knows a few things

Hmmmm.
Well I didn't give you any feedback, but I did think that you're response to oldspook, who was only trying to help you, was uncalled for:

"Dude, honestly, what is wrong with you!? I am asking a specific question, and the best you can come up with is to suggest I should buy a new rifle? Thanks for nothing…"

There are two ways of looking at it:

- Was my comment uncalled for?
- Is everyone to sensitive/overreacting?

I would say it is the later. I would never call an obese person fat, a not so pretty girl ugly, or a not so smart person stupid, if I know it will hurt their feelings. I do not need to go down that road. Never had to.
Did I pull a Trump and push some other world leader aside? No. Did I beat up an old man? No. Did I not offer him a seat on the city bus? No. I just told him that his comment was uncalled for. I mean, Imagine you go and ask a mechanic what is wrong with your car, and he tells you to just buy another one?! What? Do you really think that is normal? Do you really expect me to leave and not tell him that he needs to check himself, before he wrecks himself?! Sure, I walked out on situation without saying something, but this time, with the old man, I did not.

Maybe he needs to be told more often that what he does is not right. I don't know?

All I know is, people overreacted a little bit. They say that I aced like a child, but at the same time, they are the ones who leave me negative "feedback", calling me a jerk, rude and a troll?! That feedback is will from now on effect how people look at me, think about me, my credibility and so on.

Do people really believe the "time" fits the "crime". I guess so?!

At the end of the day, I it does not matter. I am not effected by it on a day to day basis. I like speak my mind, and always make "enemies". : )

Kmd

p.s. Do not forget though. We are in a country where people get fired for calling someone a F*g. Not disciplined, no warning, just fired. Fired from a good paying job and branded for life! In a country where people lose their minds over an actor "jumping the couch". When I heard about it, I had to google it. It took me forever to find it. So I thought. Until I realized I was looking right at it, but couldn't believe it, as there was nothing really happening, ha ha. I really believe it is time to move on. I will no longer follow this thread. Send me a PM if you like to add something.

Here's some advice:

Lose the sarcasm & respect your fellow members, even if they don't provide the answer you were looking for. True oldspooks response was "off topic", but your response was uncalled for.

If you don't like the way we run this forum, its features, or its members, then perhaps this isn't a good home.

Regarding your Bobcat, have you tried backing out the hammer spring? If that doesn't work then you may want to purchase & install a transfer port designed for a .22 Bobcat. If you really want to MacGyver something yourself you could try to soldering something into the smallest port of the power wheel. But i wouldn't suggest that.

"True oldspooks response was “off topic”, but your response was uncalled for."
I guess that makes us even? : )

"If you don’t like the way we run this forum, its features, or its members, then perhaps this isn’t a good home."
I believe the way you word it is a bit extreme, but I agree to a certain point. I made comments about some of the features on here, and also on how this forum is run. However, I look at it as "constructive criticism". My comments come from a good place, not a bad one. Like I mentioned before, I have been roaming forums for a loooong time. I believe I have a pretty good idea of what features make sense, and which ones do not. Besides, if this is a true user forum, than users should have the ability to voice their opinion, and that is all I did. Voice my opinions. When it comes to me not liking any members... Some I like, some I don't. Just like they do. : )

"Regarding your Bobcat, have you tried heavier pellets &/or backing out the hammer spring?"
I have tired heavier pellets, but at the time, this whole "lowering the speed to limit penetration" thing was not applicable, so I have to try that again. Very good idea actually! : ) Hammer spring? No idea how I would even go about it, ha ha. But I will look into that.

Anyhow. I have no idea how I ended up here again, but I am glad I did. The idea of using heavier pellets is a good one!

Thanks,

Kmd

Our posts crossed... : )

I emailed FX and asked them how much the power wheel adjuster from the .22 cost, and that I would like to order one. The .22 power wheel has three settings, whereas the .25 has two. Same as with the FX Indy I owned before the I got the .25 Bobcat Mk2. I did do some testing on all power setting with the Indy, but of course, I do not remember where I put that info! : ( Anyhow, FX replied back saying I should contact luftwappen (something like that) and I did. They told me it was around 500 kronen, but also wondered why I did not contact AoA, since it would be cheaper to get it from them. So I emailed AoA. They told me the power adjuster wheel from the .22 is not going to work on the .25 as the .25 was not made for that low power. I told them that FX themselves told me that it would work. After that I never heard back from AoA. Go figure. LOL.

When you say soldering something in there, do you mean to make the opening smaller???

Thanks,

Kmd

Yes I was referring to making the opening smaller, but it's not something I would recommend because whatever you use to shrink the hole could potentially dislodge & create a clog or damage.

Heavier pellets would indeed reduce the velocity but may actually increase the energy.

I believe "almost" all FX airguns have an adjustable hammer spring. You'll have to take the stock off to access it. The Bobcat might be a tricky one (can't recall), but after you figure out how to get it off, this is likely the quickest easiest solution. I'd start a new topic asking other Bobcat users how to remove the stock & adjust the hammer spring.

"oldspook"Sounds to me like you need a TX200 in .177. Everything you want and unlimited shots.
- Best way to keep white tennis shoes clean?! Get black ones!
- How do I clean my barrel? You don't! Buy a new rifle!
- How do I zero my scope? You don't! Use your iron sights!

Dude, honestly, what is wrong with you!? I am asking a specific question, and the best you can come up with is to suggest I should buy a new rifle?

Thanks for nothing...

Kmd

p.s. I do have a Springer in .177. Are you happy now?!

Take all that follows with a grain of sand:

Best way to keep white tennies clean? Don't walk in the mud.
How do you clean your barrel? You don't really need to clean your barrel. They tend to get to a certain level of leading and then each shot pushes out as much as it adds. Since you are shooting an air powered rifle you don't need to worry about chemical erosion, heat erosion or any of the other issues related to fire arms.
How do you zero your scope? You move the little thingies on the top and side until X marks the spot.
What is wrong with me? How much time do you have?
I am asking a specific question: And you got a specific answer.
and the best you can come up with is to suggest I should buy a new rifle? Well at this point it is the best that I can come up with which is allowed in print. ;) I suppose I could just tell you what you can do with your old rifle? ;)
Thanks for nothing... You are welcome for everything.
p.s. I do have a Springer in .177. Are you happy now?! No but I will be happy when you show us pictures of all the kills you get with it after you take my exceptionally specific and well intentioned advice. ;)

And NO I did not give you negative points... Why would I? You are obviously having a bad hair day.

Seriously though. The suggestion was well intentioned and not meant to insult. I'm sorry you got so much flack over it.

Your replies were actually funny... : )

And NO I did not give you negative points... Why would I? You are obviously having a bad hair day.

I never thought it was you who gave me negative points. And If it would have been you, Hey, I can somewhat see that. But for someone else to go ahead, get involved in something that is none of their business, and then leave me negative points?! Really?! Dude, that is just pathetic and cowardly! I mean, if their way of venting frustrations, is to remain silent, not join the "discussion", and then go "behind my back" and leave negative feedback?! So be it. That just speaks volumes to me.

On top of that, a few people on here told me, to learn to only say something positive or "shut up". They did not word it that way, but that is what they meant. I am sure everyone will agree to that?! Anyhow, I guess what it really means is, "Do not join the conversation. Instead, go ahead and leave negative feedback!" LOL.

BTW, the number now climbed to FOUR that left me negative points. I am sure it will end there. LOL.

Speaking of points... It also points out what I have been saying fro day one: The way the accuracy point system is setup, is not right. It gives people a chance to anonymously leave negative feedback and get "away" with it. Why? 99.9999% of the entire internet is not doing it that way! There is a reason for that. : )

Seriously though. The suggestion was well intentioned and not meant to insult. I'm sorry you got so much flack over it.

I know that! I can also handle the flack (not sure what exactly that is though), so no reason to be sorry. : )
Honestly, I didn't even think anyone is going to even respond to my comment, ha ha. Funny enough, the person that should have responded the most, which is you, responded last and the least! Well, I guess that proofs the point everyone is trying to make... The "old man" knows best, ha ha.

thanks,

Kmd

I would definitely not try to make the "hole" smaller. I would just get a different power adjuster wheel. I guess I just have to get one from Luftvapen?!
I will try heavier pellets next.
I know how to take the stock off, that is the easy part. When it comes to the hammer spring, I have to do some research... : )

Thanks,

Kmd

Maybe he needs to be told more often that what he does is not right. I don't know?

Also, I think you should be encouraged to elaborate upon this specific point, if you so desire.
Not exactly sure what you mean, but I can take an educated guess. : )

What I meant by that was, that often people chose to not point out the "obvious". For political correctness reasons, or because they do not want to be "rude". The results are often not what the "other side" would want. I would rather have someone tell me that my breath is bad, my shirt is to tight, there is a bugger in my noise or whatever it might be, that needs my attention, instead of them being not "rude" or political correct. : )

Well thank you. I was almost certain that you were going to bring up one of my old sins on some other forum. I'm happy that those errors have not risen to haunt me again.

Look, honestly, this is stupid on it's face. You had no right to go off on me. I probably could have worded the response more elaborately and tried to "tip toe around the tulips" but when I wrote that I just figured it was an easy solution to a problem that, frankly, sounded a bit dangerous besides who doesn't want a TX200? It is one of the best built, most accurate and sweet shooting field springers you can plop your money on. It would be perfect for that task and your camera will fit it too.

So again, I really didn't intend to piss you off. I am pleased that so many folks came to my defense though and I hope I can win you over as well in the end. So all you guys that gave this young feller grief; Start giving him back some of those points he says you should not be allowed to give anonymously. Everybody has a bad day (except me). ;) :p

If someone came to me and told me that he saw a dude, going off on another dude, I would think of some really hardcore alteration. People yelling at each other, pushing each other and some heavy duty "foul" language. If it then tuns out, that THE "going off" part was one guy saying to another guy""Dude, honestly, what is wrong with you!? I am asking a specific question, and the best you can come up with is to suggest I should buy a new rifle? Thanks for nothing…"

I would look at the guy and say, "Dude, honestly?! Get outta here!" LOL.

But wait, it even gets better! Upon me asking where this happened, he tells me, "ONLINE! WHERE ELSE!?" LOL.

You did not piss me off btw.

I hate to tell you, but the fact that so many people came to your defense, means nothing. Don't take it personal. Just like I don't take it personal, that so many people made me the bad guy. It was just in. People felt like it was the hip, so they went and did what others did. You know how that goes. Or is there any other logical explanation you can come up with, why people reacted the way they did?!

I appreciate you now "standing up" for me, but don't. Do not ask people to "forgive" me. I do not need forgiveness by people that act like that. I have no issues with you.

Kmd

I said I wasn't going to come back here, but because I saw Michael actually replied to my original question, I did. I will not make that mistake again. Who ever needs to say their piece, go ahead. Please have the last word.

You have managed that quite well for yourself. I doubt anyone could follow that.
