How is Diana 54 Air King?

1) .22
2) very accurate
3) I would put nothing on it (but i would prefer d52) but a Leupold 3-9x33 efr, dus to its indestructability, warranty and light weight.
google the d54 and d52, there are lots of reviews on it on the net.

Ditto on Dutch Mike. Nice guns, accurate 22 cal was my preference, but they are scope eaters. Be sure you get a scope with a warranty and springer TS rated. Brian <><

I owned a .177 54 for many years. It is a great rifle. Very accurate with much power. Despite what people say I never has a problem with scope damage and I do wonder how this myth came to be. The only thing to be mindful of is that the 54 is quite heavy.

Yikes! I called mine the scope killer. However, this rifle in .22 caliber was the most accurate of all my springers. If I would have kept it, I would have purchased a Leopold scope for it. Big bucks but it will hold up. I returned gun due to seal problem. Just didn't want to tune it. Nickel sized groups at 40 yards and not hold sensitive of course.

I had a .177. Heavy, but accurate. I loved it, unique (for its time) "recoilless" performance. Keeps its value well. Scope has to be able to withstand double-recoil. I used an old Tasco TargetMaster(?) (with Japan lense) and a Leapers scope on it without any issues. Must use a scope stop.

I have the Air King in .177 and I will agree with the others that it is a very heavy rifle, and it also does not have the best ergonomics. That being said they are very accurate rifles. Mine will out shoot a lot of PCP's out there. The picture below is a typical 6 shot group at 40 yards with the rifle shooting H@N Barracuda pellets. It does like heavier pellets as I have not been able to group as well with the 7-9 grain pellets. I just have a cheap Center Point 4-16 on mine and I have had no problems with the scope.
