Yes you just count, or you should here a different sound when the gun is dry fired, and obviously you could also look.

To pcps there is no problem dry firing it because your just sending out a puff of air. With springers on the other hand it's not good for them.

Daystate magazines have an indicator dot to show when the magazine has come all the way around and is empty..

Don't count the shots but use a visual indicator on the magazines. Also, you will know by the sound if you loose count and dry fire without a pellet.

On my FX guns once the magazine is empty I can't push the probe forward.
On my Crickets I can tell when the magazine is empty because there is a lot less resistance when the probe goes forward.
On my Daystate MK4 the gun keeps track of how many shots I have left and makes a beeping noise when the magazine is empty.

The Benjamin Marauder magazine has numbers on it that you can glance at as you shoot and when the last shot is fired the bolt will not go forward.

Of course spring/gas piston guns don't have magazines as they are single shot. But you will damage them if you dry fire them.

Daystate has an indicator on the mag as others have said but, I never see it. I can always feel the pellet going into the chamber if there is one there and consequently I can feel it when there isn't one.

I think the WildCats mag is similar to the Weihrauch HW100 - you can put it in any location around the mag. I would put a mark along the edge that you can see from the shooting position and make sure to load the mag in the same location so when the mark shows up you'll know it time to reload.

That stinks! I have a hard enough time remembering to close my bolt all the way before firing let alone keeping count of what shot I'm on. Ah well, I guess I'll just have to live with it as I got a .25 Wildcat this afternoon.

I did observe that closing the bolt after inserting the magazine was a bit tricky. I kept having to manually spin the magazine until the chamber aligned with the bolt probe so it could finally close. Through trial and error, I found out the trick to loading the magazine. Ater the magazine is loaded, pull back gently on the lever (bolt) and it will index the magazine to the proper position so the bolt will close.

The owners manual says nothing about it so I had to figure it out myself.
