how do you guys feel about .20 cal

When I had one rifle that I used for hunting and field target it was the obvious choice for a caliber larger than .177. At the time CPs ruled the day and both the .20 and .22 versions weighed the same at 14.3 grains. Since the .20 had the smaller diameter, it had higher sectional density, higher BC, flatter trajectory, and better penetration on game. It still has some advantages as you can see here.

Due to the relatively high BC energy retention and wind drift are quite good, and drop is not bad either. The BC was determined from my own testing of the JSB pellet shot from my .20 Daystate Harrier which was tuned for a little over 20 ft-lb of energy at the time. At the muzzle I recorded an average velocity of 835 fps, and at 50 yards obtained an average velocity of 702 fps.

Wow. Glad to see there are so many shooters in this caliber. My oldest son has my Beeman Crow Magnum 3 right now. Got to have some thing to do while this "shelter in place" is going on. I also have a Blue Streak with a peep sight that amazes me. And if Fed-Ex is here tomorrow my Talon-P carbine will be re barreled in .20 It shoot .25 great but in .20 like you guys said, I'll get a flatter trajectory, more FPS and a better shot and I'll be using less air (hopefully). Besides I need something to do and Airforce had the barrel for $54.

You all stay healthy

Just recently having set up an R&D program with JSAR to explore how & what would be required to build a purpose designed version of the RAPTOR Mini.

My gun and it's configuration is the start of this R&D program ... YES it is a .20 caliber too !!

Gun picture as well 2 targets shot recently at 45 yards with JSB .20 pellets while sitting on a tri stool with shooting sticks .. HUNTER Field target style with 10 shots at each. few sighters in the corners

Dr. Beeman was a relentless preacher for the .20 cal during the 80's. I have a couple and they are both sublime. I think it would be the optimum caliber for a 20 FPE field target gun. I would love to find a great barrel that works well with the current JSB's and machine it to fit the Impact. About a million tack driving FT shots, I'm in!

I would like many others love to see additional ammo choices.

Yikes, you guys are getting some great groups! I just retuned my Harrier for more shots at lower charge pressure. I am running around 19 ft-lb now and getting a solid 25 good shots per 2400 psi fill. Accuracy is still good at around 0.60" at 50 yards, sometimes better, but not quite what I'm seeing here. Obviously I'm due for an upgrade! As someome else said, the .20 caliber really comes into its own in guns of medium power, around 20 ft-lb. or so.
