That's definitely dedication to the sport when you go through all of that, bet when he said he shot 6 hours or more on weekend days it was mostly spent weighing and size checking pellets. I thought I was bad when I started spine checking my arrow shafts then weighing my fletching,nock,field points,heck even caught myself weighing what 1-2-3 drops of super glue weighed.

Yes, I don't think Ted needs to explain anything. He's just really good at what he does and works incredibly hard at it. And, if I'm not mistaken, he's a biologist (at least I heard that a long time ago) so well trained on how to observe, experiment, record results and apply lessons learned. The math of ballistic coefficients currently eludes me (not a math major by any means) but to him it's probably second nature as if you understand the language of math, I'm told it becomes easy.

He probably can't figure out why the rest of us don't do the same things because it's so easy for him.

​Oh, and his self admitted highly competitive nature didn't hurt either. I'd go and if I got knocked out in the first or second round, that's OK, I'm there for fun. He, on the other hand is there to WIN!

​While I miss his Videos, I understand the time and effort they take to make. Family first, so I'll just wait till he has a new subject. Oh, and trolls that are so highly critical didn't seem to help his motivation on the videos. That just seemed to kill his motivation. It probably would have killed mine!

Some can just see the air..and some do it for Dale...some of us have a sixth sense of what needs to be accomplished...I myself am this way...some things are skill and some things are just a gift...
I discovered many years ago to not read into what one is given... when I do more often than not I fail... Just follow your Flow and not other's most likely you will succeed.
It's been a Joy to watch Ted Bier and his gift good luck next year.

I've seen everyone talking about the gun, pellets, practice and etc. The only thing I have not seen anyone mention, I would be willing to bet he uses some of that special "farm fresh" hpa that he gets from the livestock farms he practices at. This special hpa will be high in methane and a few other special gasses. I would be willing to bet he makes his own special mix every time and goes to exactly the same point in the same yard using the same compressor at the same time of day with the wind blowing just so.

Well, he does shoot Dairy Farms for practice. . . . . . . 

I suddenly get a vision of a herd of Holsteins going into full-on pucker mode as they watch Ted approaching with his custom "Manual Extraction Direct Infuser Unfiltered Methane", or MEDIUM, probe to get his weekly blend of special gases. #WINNING

I don't know, getting ready for the most important competition of the year he may pull out his "Longitudinal Area Regulated Gas Extractor" or LARGE probe to make sure he can fill several bottles of his special mix in short order. The sight of this tool might put the herd into full stampede mode and have them running for the hills, unless he's wearing cammo and sneaks in while they are sleeping. Then again he may wait until they are in the milking stalls and then he doesn't have to be sneaky, just wait until the cattle have gone in for their evening milking. Not sure how long he could hold onto his permission if all the cattle suddenly start looking skinny and bug-eyed after he visits though. (think tall chihuahua)

Apart from Teds obvious talent he was an early adopter of the King Heavy pellet and its exceptional bc. Where many other competitors using that pellet last year? 
There will be a lot more this year especially with the Raw's

Another possibility would be that the air he uses is so thick that he can use the air stream and drag the pellet that last inch that it would have been off target. He sees threw the scope that it will hit a little high and to the right, so he uses the thicker air and moves the barrel down and to the left dragging the pellet with the thicker air. I think it would only be fair if the other competitors could demand that he empty is tanks and refill from the local air there by eliminate his very real advantage of the special air he is using. I'm thinking now that I brought attention to the special air mix he is using, I'm thinking some of the other competitors may be trying to copy his mix. Maybe the rules should be changed that everyone there has to bring their rifle and tanks to the competition and get a fill from compressors only on site.

Added benefit would be the manufacturers would be able to show off how quiet and fast they can fill the tanks. The risk would be if they sound like a 747 on take off and takes an hour to fill a buddy bottle, they may have a little trouble convincing people to choose the new improved supper quiet compressor.

Of course, if Ted used compressed farmyard air thick with methane, it is a testament to the streangth of his gun. I can imagine fire from the barrel on each shot from exploding barnyard air.
