I have a 22 cal. It has a shroud so i cant get my weedwacker line through. I cant fit a straw in there either to get past the baffles. I looked on youtube but i can only find compatto videos where they remove the barrel. Any help would be appreciated.

Initial cleaning
- Remove barrel. If the scope rings are covering the barrel screws then you may want to consider relocating the rings when you reinstall.
- Remove shroud
- Remove breech o-ring
- Push through rod with mop & JB bore paste
- Clean wet patchworm with Gunzilla or Bore Cleaner or Cleaner Degreaser
- Clean try patchworm with Gunzilla
Subsequent cleaning
- Find or straw that works for your shroud or remove the shroud
- Clean wet patchworm (or standard pull thru) with Gunzilla or CLP
- Clean try patchworm (or standard pull thru) with Gunzilla
Let us know how it goes

November 5, 2018 at 7:10 pm LinkI am not a big weed-wacker line fan. Weed wacker line though is just a nylon variant. I use a thicker stiffer nylon rod that is straight. If you're anal-retentive and won't ever insert a soft patch from the muzzle end, you can still just stick it all the way down and then insert your patch in the eyelet at the chamber end. I however clean from the muzzle end with only soft things so I can't damage the crown on the barrel. I figure keeping any cleaning agents out of the barrel port and getting less of it on the breech o-rings is preferable. Either way, the rigid nylon rod will allow you to clean up or down through any sort of baffle or moderator stack.

Might be a bit sticky the first time doing so.

I think i may just take off the shroud. Thanks dhart.
You're welcome. That's all you'll need to do to clean with plastic line or a rod.
