how are you guys liking your Huben K1's?

my buddy and several others in the area have bought the Huben K1 .22 and are loving them. I just picked up a nice used one and once I got it dialed in it is shooting great with 18.1 gr JSB, 25 gr JSB and 21 gr Barracudas. Just curious what settings and pellets or slugs most of you are using.

Haven't had a chance to stretch it legs past 35 yards yet but will hopefully this weekend if it don't rain. I know these guns are made for power but that doesn't mean that's the way you have to shoot it. I like shooting the 18.1 gr JSB at 950 fps + as its a laser. However I also like the way it shoots the 25 gr at 940 + but I'm running low so just placed another order for some more. May take it out for a pest or squirrel hunt this weekend and see how it performs.

35 yards 18 gr JSB at 970 - not 950 as posted above.

Full mag with couple fliers

35 yards 25 gr JSB at 940 I think.

I did so much testing then switched to the 18's

As I was running low on 25s

I've only had this gun a couple weeks and had an issue with shotgun like accuracy . I found some loose screws and got that all sorted out. These were some of the best groups after dialing it in. Really only had one afternoon to shoot it for a couple hours so I have more to do.

Sure is a fun gun to shoot.

Harry

My reg is at 110. Not sure on shot count as I fill to 3500 and shoot two mags.

yes, I've watched all videos I can on this gun and read all reviews etc.

When I got the gun it shot terrible. Probably should have sent it back but I'm the kind that likes to figure out what is wrong and fix it so I tore it down. I shot a couple hundred or more shots thru it trying to get some kind of accuracy with different pellets and settings then I noticed the rear screws that clamp the airtube and barrel together had backed out. I tightened them up and started over then I heard a rattle inside the top plastic barrel cover. Next shot I had a blast of air come out of breech area. I put it aside for a day or so to think about it as I was pissed. But I ended up taking it apart and found one of the screws that have red on them, that are used to align the barrel to mag, had come out completely. It wasn't stripped or damaged. I could see the barrel alignment was off and shaving one side of the pellets. After several tries I got it lined up and tightened down. Put it all back together and started shooting again and that is when I shot the groups above. 1000% better than before as it never shot what I would call a group.

I'm glad I kept the gun and fixed it as I really like it and I think it will only get better.

one other thing- Accuracy is subjective to what the shooter wants or expects. Not all guns are "tack drivers" but are made for hunting which this gun is and I'm happy with it. That doesn't mean I won't keep trying to get the most accuracy out of it.

5 of us have these here in my area with 2 bought used and 3 bought new. All of the others have been fine and shoot great. Mines does too now.

None of us have tried slugs yet and I believe they are all shooting the 25 gr JSB except one which is shooting the 15 gr JSB. I know my buddy John's Huben is very accurate with the 25 gr at 890-900 or so with reg at 110 bar.

Have not tried 12 ft lbs either, however mine shot the 18 gr JSB at 850 pretty good too but I like them faster.

I have a Veteran long .22 and it loves the 18 gr at 940.

Here is a pic John sent me of a group of 19 shots he shot at 50 yards as fast as he could pull the trigger and stay on target. 25 gr JSB

Hello Again Randy, thank you for the info.

Like Steve123 above I am also interested in the K1s low power ability, I see you have shot down to 30ft lb , I need to go "low power" for indoor Barn work, this is (one of the things) that/what calls me to the K1, Please cover this more. You will be breaking new ground as others have covered its high power ability, but there is little I can find on the "low".

again thanks.

I shot for a couple hours this afternoon at 50 yards using 15 gr, 18 gr and 25 gr JSB. My gun prefers the 18 gr at 930-940 fps with reg at 120 bar. I upped it just a tad from the 110 setting and it seems to have eliminated the fliers. The groups at 50 yards vary from dime to quarter size. The 15' s were ok but I didn't shoot many and didn't change reg settings while shooting them. I think they would be ok at lower reg and lower power.

The 25s shoot just ok with the groups in clusters of three or 4 then it seems it shifts about a half inch and then 3 or 4 again. I may pull it down and inspect the alignment again and polish the barrel.

I just ordered a dozen tins of 25s a couple days ago thinking my gun would shoot them ok. And it still might. I decided to shoot some in my Veteran long and on max power they are hitting 890 fps and deadly accurate. It loves them so I set up my turret tape and shot it out to 80 yards before I ran out of pellets. I think I found the pellet for my Veteran. Can't wait to go pesting with these two guns.

And as I have time I will try and shoot the Huben on lower power and post results. It may be a few days though.

I've been playing around with different tunes in my Huben shooting the JSB 25 gr from 880 to 1000 fps. It shoots pretty good from 970 and down and I settled on 915 FPS with reg at 110 bar. At this setting I can get 75 shots on the reg with an additional 10 useable if needed. Velocity ranged from 903 to 936 but if I throw out the low 903 and high 936 it goes from 909-933 and that was filling to 4000psi and refilling at 1300.. I was hoping to get at least 4 mags worth which is 76 shots and I finally got it there. When I had it turned up to 140 bar and shooting at 970 it was accurate but I had velocity swings of 50 fps which I did notice on target as slight vertical stringing. It really don't show up until you get past 50 yards. However my shot count dropped to around 45, so basically 2 mags, plus it had a pretty good snap to it.

When I got my gun it wasn't accurate at all but I dug into it and fixed the problem. I had a screw loosen and fall out that is used to align the barrel. When this happens it will shave the skirt off the pellet as it is being shot thru the mag into the barrel lead. Once I had it apart I polished the barrel with JB Bore paste followed by JB bore bright and also polished the crown and lead. I also ran the crown polishing tool in each chamber of the mag to eliminate shaving while loading pellets. The gun is much easier to load and very accurate now.

Actually fixed another one for a friend that had the shaving issue too.

It has become my favorite gun to shoot. Now if only the weather would cooperate so I can get out and actually shoot something with it.

I'll tell you what. These guns are pretty awesome. There are six of us in my area with them now and all of them are shooting great with the 25 gr JSB. They are accurate and so fun to shoot. Yea we had a couple with issues but they were bought used so who knows what they went through before.

I had an Evanix Airspeed and there is no comparison.Huben beats it hands down. Also three of these guys had Monsoons and Steyr auto 5. They like this Huben a lot more. I don't think you can go wrong if you buy one. Most issues are very easy to fix.

As far as the screw goes it's the two located under the barrel that go back into the rear half of receiver. The two on top hold the two halves and the two on the bottom align the mag and barrel. Gregor says not to mess with them as it's hard to alighn. But if you have an issue like I did you have to fix it.

I didn't take pics of that part when I had it apart.

Today it was raining so I set up in my garage and set my target out at 60 yards. Even though this gun was pretty consistent at the lower reg setting it just didn't shoot that good on paper. These settings would probably be ok for 18 gr pellets but the 25's seem to need more. I kept turning up my reg and adjusting velocity until it grouped the best at 60 yards. The faster I pushed them the better it shot. After going thru 2 tins of 25 jsb I settled on 160 bar reg and shooting them at 1040 fps. It seems I read that some others were shooting at or close to this also. Groups were hovering around a dime size which is what I was previously getting at 35 yards on the other settings.

I hope to go squirrel hunting in the morning with it.

Hi Harry

I have a Hatsan Lightening and fill my 88 cf tank to 4500. Usually fill my gun to 4000 and at high power as it is now I get two full mags plus a few more. On lower power I can get 4 plus mags.

several of us have compressors and tanks. Some even have the big 6000 psi tanks they rent. So no shortage of air.

Check out the hunting gate as I we went out Sunday morning for a squirrel hunt.
