How about that Hatsan

I just recently got a bullboss from Bwalton in .22 and really liking it .
I'm shooting jsb 18 grain at 900 fps very nicely.I was trying to shoot crossman premiers in 14 grain but they were very inaccurate at about 940fps the jsb 18 grain tamed her down a bit.The next beautiful day I'll be tuning her to shoot the crossman premiers.
I do like the hatsans as you can get a nice PCP without getting too deep into your pockets.

I have an AT44QE tact 22. I don't really use it anymore but they are good guns for the price. They are rough around the edges like all guns in the price range but nothing wrong with them for small game hunting. The 22 cal QE models are very quiet and easily backyard friendly.

I actually like the trigger on my AT44 a lot (although I'm not sure if I'm in this minority on that one). I prefer it's short crisp feel with little to no travel over some of the more expensive 2-stage ones I have with lots of travel.

The gun the AT44 gets compared to most is the Marauder. I owned both at one point and if forced to choose between them, I would probably favor the Marauder slightly but it's close. The AT44 is heavier (as others have said) and the QE models are longer. The Marauder delivers equal noise and accuracy in a shorter lighter package. The Marauder has more off-the-shelf upgrades and mods available too. Plus it's more user adjustable in terms of power. The Hatsan has the side-lever which I prefer to the bolt action and being able to carry spare cylinders is helpful for people who handpump.

Most Hatsan PCP guns have automatic safeties which means you have to flick the safety off before every shot. Some people say they get used to that. I never did. I would frequently forget and miss my hunting shot because I forgot to turn off the safety.

Overall, you won't do a lot better for the price.
