Hey fellow hog hunters I want to ask a huge favor,
I have been trying to track hog movement times here in East Texas, they have been throwing me a curve ball and I just have not been able to get on them.
I have a bait site and they are not being predictable at all.
So how about it do me a favor and post when and where you are seeing them. It would also be real nice if you add the weather when you saw them

Where about in East Texas?  I hunt in Rusk….most hogs we’ve seen have been during the night on camera.  However, end of December, my buddy shot two hogs about 3-4pm, they were hitting up his deer feeder.  Had them on camera at night and middle of the day.

No method to the madness from what we can tell though….they don’t show up like clockwork.  But we’re on 1500 acres, so they have a lot of ground they can cover.

I am in the Junction area around round rock, I have access to some hunting land and a cabin in the area .
The hogs are very sketch in the area, We have about eight feeders out that operate 12 months a year,
You so much as click the safety off the gun and the pigs are gone, Maybe just a little over hunted in the area ,
Lots of them in the area , You so much as fart and your not going to see nothing, as far as pigs…The white tails will be standing around with a stupid look, The Axis deer will be off like rockets,

The one thing predictable about hogs is that they are unpredictable😊

Friends run hogs with dogs all the time around Wills Point and Canton area.  They are having a hard time finding them right now also.

Whether they’re seen or not, I’m beginning to think there are nearly as many hogs in Texas, as there are people! The last time I was down to Medina, (hill country) they were everywhere! I got two, and I wasn’t even hunting per se!

Seems like the “always open season” policy has been effective in controlling them, eh?

It sure enough has made them cautious.
Guess I would keep my tail hidden too if every time I stick my head up some redkneck with an A.R starts blasting away at me LOL

I’m south east of Austin.  Near San Marcos.
We have a very bad hog problem.
Our hogs only move at night, and they are especially active after rain.  They are extremely destructive when the soil is wet and soft.

We have had a good hard rain all night and day it might run them out of the creek bottoms and get them moving
May have to go out and see what kind of damage I can do tonight or tomorrow
