Hog hunting

Manny's a good guy & a great hunter. When I was living on Oahu he taught me most everything I know about feral hog hunting. Here's a short video of a hunt we did together

Here's what I know... shot placement is absolutely paramount for a clean kill. The temple is the softest area, next is the forehead in between the eyes and up a few inches. The latter can be tricky because your shot must be perpendicular or it'll just deflect off.

It really doesn't take much energy to penetrate either of those areas. That being said I would suggest a slightly more than average power rating & the right projectile. I've taken a few hogs with JSB pellets but their lead is really soft. I'd suggest a denser pellet or better yet a slug.

Not sure what your price range is but here are a few brands that might fit the bill & offer enough power to shoot heavier/denser projectiles: Airforce, Ataman, Crosman (Bulldog), EDgun, Kalibrgun, Evanix, Hatsan, Seneca (Sumatra).

In order to keep things quiet around your house you'll probably want to pick up a 3rd party silencer as well!

Cheers
