H&N T-Slot hollow point design for slugs

Today I would like to share some details about the special hollow point design of our Heavy Slugs.

To date, most hollow point designs have a straight, single-stage cavity. That includes all previous H&N Slugs.

The new H&N T-Slot design is different: the cavity is two-tiered and resembles a "T" (hence the name). The upper part with the shallow angle ensures a quick start of the deformation on impact, the lower part with an acute angle keeps the deformation going. In addition, the slugs are made of a new lead alloy.

The result is a securely and massively expanding projectile.

With the new H&N T-Slot, airgun hunting becomes more effective - and thus ethical.

In Air Hunter Gerhard's new airgun hunting video, he shows a bit of the history and theory behind the development and construction of airgun slugs for airgun hunting and the idea behind the H&N T-Slot.

Good morning,

Here are my answers:

Any ballistics gel testing, or testing using pork rips?

Yes, Gerhard's video shows a shot in ballistic gel. We prefer to grill pork ribs for barbecue... ;-)

Jorg:

Original offering is for heavy .22's. Would this design work for more normal weight slugs, and .25 or .30 caliber slugs? There are only so many fully kitted Impacts out there.

We are working on that.

I'd love to try some. When will the new slugs be available here in the USA?

The first shipment in .218 is somewhere on the Atlantic. .217 will follow soon.

Best regards

Jörg
