H&N Slugs , Any luck ??

Hi all .

I was out yesterday shooting the Red Wolf and had cleaned the barrel to within a inch of its life . I tried my true and trusted Pro hunters , un lubed and then a tiny bit of lube .. they were mucking about for a while then came on . I then tried the H&N 217 27 Grain .... but they were all over the shop . . I could not get a group going for love nor money . Anyone having problems with them at all .... or maybe it was my gun ?? I know the .22 ART barrel can shoot slugs really well. Its done an amazing job in the past , I am not sure what has changed ?? I checked the seals and they are all bang on which is good . I know the gun is down on power due to it being so damn cold here in the UK !! I know these slugs have worked well in the past , I could group an inch at 100 with not too much hassle but yesterday it was a nightmare , 50 yards it was at least 2" oddly enough . I have cleaned the barrel again and will try once more . Seems very odd ... These slugs ... What a pain 😵😵

No i didn't lube them because they are already lubed from factory, when I opened the box for the 1st time and picked a few out my fingers tips were shiny/greasy from the lube so I didn't see the point of lube in this case.

Also when you look at the foam on bottem of the tin and bottom of the tin itself it was very visible that the are factory lubed...yours must be too?

Work fantastic in my crown , 217 and 218

cant get pro hunters to work , thank god at the price that are asking for them

To be honest the Pro Hunters have worked amazingly well in my gun , They grouped so so well . The H&N's are good but not a patch on PH's . I am surprised my Red Wolf is mucking about , I think another clean from top to bottom and she will be fine , As for price , I think they are worth it I really do .

£30 per hundred is worth it , not for me

I will keep with H&H slugs at the moment as I can get Very good group at121 yards

I do a lot of testing with pellets and now slugs and I will keep trying other makes as and when they come out

I tried the .217 and .218 21 grain today in my 500mm pellet liner (FX Crown). It was only at 15 meters, but the result was excellent with both sizes.

Can't wait to try them out at longer distances.

Both sizes will work but found 217 will give you a tighter group at distance in either liner

I also shoot crown 500 mm barrel
