So, I used pumps years ago and quickly switched to a SCUBA tank and then on to an SCBA tank. I ended up buying another pump as back up, but ended up selling. My pump experience has been an old Axsor pump and a couple of Benjamin pumps. I have been selling off airguns and equipment lately in an attempt to simplify my airgunning down to guns I actually shoot. I have a nice compressor and decided to sell off all but my larger SCBA tank. I finally made the decision that a good quality hand pump should be in my collection as a backup and maybe a sole means of filling my guns if that zombie thing ever happens!! LOL!!

Seriously though, I got to thinking a pump is a great backup so I ordered a Hill MK4. Also got some rebuild kits to have on hand. I have to say WOW!! Not saying I am not using my compressor and tank anymore, but what a difference compared to a Benji or even the old Axsor.

I filled a couple of guns just to make sure it works properly. Much smoother and easier than my previous pumps. After owning a couple Benji’s, I would urge anyone looking for a pump to spend a little extra as it will be worth it. Mine is just for a rainy day, but if I had no choice but to pump, I would not want the Benji over the Hill even for the price difference!! A much better quality pump!!

Only experience with pumps is the Benji, and have found they vary from pump to pump. How many pumps for say the Marauder with the Hill as compared to the Benji, It’s about 140 lbs of effort needed for the Benji  How about Hill.

I don’t remember how many pumps the Benji took and didn’t count with the Hill. I just know it is a much smoother and higher quality pump than the Benji.

I got the HILL MK4 last weekend.  Me and PRod went shooting the next day and must say, it was quite an experience especially from someone who started with CF tank since day -1.  I got the CF tank a day before the MRod22 arrived. Packing in the Hill pump, Prod, ammo, lunch, and gear into a backpack.  A curious squirrel even came out of it’s burrow 35yds away while I was pumping. I was on pump 45 when I stopped and noticed it was staring right at me. Couldn’t be more happy with this pump!
