Hill Airgun Kit for Umarex Gauntlet

I have owned my 177 Gauntlet for a while and my biggest gripe has been the hard cocking effort. I purchased the Hill airgun kit on Ebay and it sure smoothed out the cocking and by using both shims supplied it increased the fps a about 10 fps, or almost stock. I just did not want to tear the gun apart and polish the hammer and tube. The gun is stock except for a DonnyFl Sumo and shroud. One day I will do more mods , but for now I'm a happy and content airgunner. BTW, it was a easy mod. I didn't even degass the gun. I did reinstall the screw that secures the valve while installing the kit.

No it does not increase shot count. It smooths the cocking effort. It's easy to install. Hajimoto does a complete tear down of the Gauntlet that shows you where the parts are to replace. Here's how I do it.

Make sure the gun is uncocked (VERY IMPORTANT) and not loaded. I did not, but must people recommend to degass the gun for saftey. Next, remove the action from the stock. Remove the rear trigger screw that extends through the air tube and breech. Remove the rear cap to the breech. Then tip the barrel up so the spacer, spring guide and hammer spring can be removed. Keep these parts but do not reinstall. Install the Hill kit, hammer spring, spring guide and both spacers for best power. Then just put all back together. The pictures on Ebay for the Hill kit are helpful. Hope this helps.
