High-quality, Lightweight, Side focus, Mildot ???

I'm interesting in following this thread topic along. I've been really debating switching to a FFP scope but the biggest thing that's holding me back is the weight on most all of the commonly used FFP scopes with airguns. Hawke, Athlon, SWFA, MTC, etc seem to hover in the high 20's to low 30 oz range. The current SFP scope on my Wildcat comes in at 19oz, so that's quite a noticeable jump in weight. JoeWayneRhea has a really interesting solution because I didn't realize you could have the Leupold custom shop reduce the minimum focus... I guess all I'm saying is good luck finding a FFP scope that can focus down to airgun distances while being sub 20 oz because I've been on the same hunt and haven't had much luck.

Great replies you guys :)

Oregun, I have seriously considered that SWFA scope but continued my search for something lighter.

Would love to find something in between Joe's very cool suggestion...

A 16oz. 4-14x40mm FFP mil-dot that will focus down to 10 yards would be the cat's PJ's and a bullpup owners dream come true :)

Not quite your unicorn but this is another option but like the others will sacrifice one of the parameters with weight taking the priority here rather than magnifacation.

Discovery vt3 3-12x44sf ffp scope

weight 18oz.

10 yard minimum distance

length 10”

first focal plane

Side focus

mil dot

Around $200 from china

I ordered one and expect it around 2 weeks from today. Wish it had a touch more magnification but size and weight played the priority for me as I hope to purchase a .22 veteran shorty soon to put it on. I wanted to keep everything smaller lighter otherwise it would be the swfa 3-15 ffp scope mentioned above.

Quality is questionable but Discovery has some great reviews. Not high quality as the price dictates but my range is short and this should be just the ticket.

Now I just need the taipan and then try a wg760 from china for nv
