High Power Thicker Crosshair Reticle

Do you guys know of some scopes under $500 street, sale, clearance price that has thicker crosshairs for a PPC. My eyes are old and I struggle with the newer thin crosshair reticles. I can use them but my eyes get tired twice as fast as the thicker ones. I need at least 20 power and AO down to 10yds. SFP, no Xmas trees just duplex, mil dot or something not too busy. Most of the reticles I see that would work are under 15 power for hunters. They want stupid prices for the old Bushnell 4200, Leupold 6.5-20 etc. They are also few and far between. I can't do the fine crosshairs or 1/8" dot etc.

I got an Alpha 6 and it will work for my AR. I shoot outdoors so a ton of light and I only shoot maybe 35 shots in an outing. I can shoot it with my PPC's but I tire quickly. With my PPC's I shoot a couple hundred rounds at a not extremely well lit indoor range. Maybe a thicker and illuminated tactical? I don't know if illuminated would solve this or not.

The Japan Bushnell TAC 5-15x40 AO Mildot has an easy to see reticle and only <$200-$250 when shopping smart.

it retails for $499 to around $659 depending where you check.

it's the last cheap Japan diamond in the rough with a LIFETIME WARRANTY soon to be no more after they all sell out.

If you LIKE the Bushnell 4200-3200 series front focus AO scopes you are really gonna like this one.

You won't need 20x because it's pretty damn clear like a Leupold EFR.

No eye fatigue and I prefer this one over my SWFA SS 3-15x42s.

The Alpha6 has daytime bright illumination just keep extra battery in your pocket at all times.

At 20x the reticle on THIS DISCOVERY SCOPE is twice the thickness of the Alpha6 you have.

The Discovery HD 4-20x50 FFP is really clear (almost like the Alpha6 but the Discovery eyebox is pretty terrible in comparison) and has a fat thick reticle at 20x and probably useable for you as a 12x-20x scope in your case based on reticle thickness concerns if the Alpha6 looks too thin 4u.

They only have a 3 year Warranty but it's one of the FEW Discovery scopes that are actually worth buying IMHO. Others are pretty terrible even within the same class level. Choose your scopes very wisely and stay away from the ones that belong straight into the trash.

On second thought, you can actually get buy even with a crappy 6-24x FFP and use it only as a 15x-20x the clarity should be decent and reticle fat enough.

Even if you bought the really crappy $399 Discovery HD 34mm 5-30x56 I think it's useable for you at 15x-20x. After 20x the image goes to $HIT so don't use it from 21x-30x.

I think even an Athlon Gen1 Argos 6-24x50 FFP would work for you from 16x-20x. Some were reported not clear past 18x though that's what you get lifetime warranty for. One of mine is like that and the other 2 are ok up to 20x-21x. You can get them for $200-$250 if you shop smart.

I'm waiting for all the Gen1 Argos to be sold out and done so I can send all 3 of mine back to trade for hopefully better glass from the new model replacements.

Thanks for all the suggestions and I will look at those. I don't need anything "extra" thick. I already have a Legend 15x and I consider those extra thick. I would also really prefer something 20X or better.Just the standard duplex on a Bushnell, Leupold, Sightron etc. The trend for most the tactial ones seem to be closer to the thin crosshairs for benchrest than a standard duplex reticle. As I remember many of the mil dot reticles tend to be fatter than the Xmas trees and not near as busy. I really like the Alpha 6 I just need the crosshairs a tad wider and more bold maybe.
