high power 22 for small game

If you are using the JSB 14gr. For hunting this may be your problem with critters running off. Try some JSB Hades, Predator Polymags or their Metalmags. The rounded shape of the JSB Exact will plow through with little tissue damage.

The pellets I mentioned will expand and do more tissue damage and generally do not pass through.

At the moment I’m using the Polymag shorts 15.8gr. on squirrel, they expand from .22 to .28, but I go for head shots. Squirrels don’t run off.

My Talon SS is putting out about 23 fpe. It’s light, 7.5 lbs. with scope and short, only 32.5 in.

I've got a Crown continuum shooting 65 FPE in 22. Can go higher, but I feel 65 is overkill already. Mine is modified by myself. Some port work and a hammer weight.

I'd really vote for the Crown or the Brocock. Hear lots of great things about both. Not so much the other 2.

Is this with the 700mm barrel? I have the continuum in .25 and only use the 380mm barrel, but find it lacking in velocity as my crown is strictly a light weight pellet only gun, wish I went .22 (way lighter pellets). The barrels (380mm) can not be bought, so no way to change calibers without either buying a new crown or getting a 500mm.

865fps with 26gr

920 with 20gr both with only a 380mm barrel probably isn’t lacking, just me being unrealistic. Still think I chose the wrong caliber for a stubby only rifle.

I my self own a hatsan b25 in 25 caliber , it shoots ok but it is long and heavy , id op for a shorter gun , If I had to get 1 gun in 22 only it would be Taipan it does slugs and pellets and is amazing accuracy , it does like a moderator to tame noise in yard when cranking power , mine is shooting 52fpe with just a 2 dollar stiffer hammer spring and 4 clicks on the regulator from stock setting , so my guess is 140 to 145 bar as it said 134 bar on it stock , I am currently shooting my 34 gr slugs moa at 100ys as long as nsa 23 gr ,and all amazing and with 18 gr it is a lazer at any power range 18fpe to 52fpe , it never failed me yet and has over 50 squirrels taken since last fall

did you decide? what price range , maybe a better used gun is an option
