High desert, CA

Lots of areas to hunt in the high desert of CA. El Pasos, Red Mountain, Jawbone Canyon, Paiutes.....most anywhere north of Mojave you’ll find rabbits, quail, chuckar and other small game. Look for the foothills or anywhere where the terrain is varied in elevation. If you venture farther north, there is a lot of public land off the 178 heading towards Isabella. Farther to the west you have Carrizio Plain area with lots of birds and other small game. Farther east you have the entire Mojave Preserve. None of these areas get much hunting pressure. I’ve hunted some for years and have never seen another hunter out in the field.

Good luck.
