When I pump it feels like there no compression being made. I figured the valve o ring needed changing. 6 o rings later and I still have the problem. Then I took out the lighter valve spring and reinstalled the stock spring and WALA! it started accepting air again.

My question is why did the lighter spring all of a sudden not work? It worked fine for the first 2 days then crapped out. Is there such thing as the valve spring being too light?

it might not be too light but too short

in a lot of co2 gun if you leave the hammer up against the valve it will leak and by the time you figure it out your dry

there is a fine line between holding the valve closed and seated and not enough pressure

without knowing the wire diameter but able to guess you went way small

so if were to do a spring for something and the factory spring was say .75 mm, I would get .30-.40-.50mm springs for R and D work same ID diameter

so I'm having to assume some things here because I don't know want your working on

so it was the hammer sitting on the valve or just not enough spring but a guess it did work and you are hand pumping a PCP rifle and you got real greedy trying to make power

I’m working on a 1377

When the spring was working, I would cock the gun before I started pumping, so there was no pressure on the exhaust valve

I think you’re right. The spring is too short

Thanks for your input
