Help Needed with Brocock Contour S6

I went to shoot today and found the Contour out of air. I suspect a slow leak so I replaced the O-rings around the fill probe and now it won't go back together. The first picture shows the gap I'm getting when I tighten it down. The second picture is the metal gasket I replaced that when out, the assembly goes together, but with a leak. I measured the metal gasket against the original and found no discernible difference.

What am I doing wrong?

edit: I just realized there is a sub-forum for tuning and repair. Mods please move if need be.

I noticed the air cylinder is not centered inside the barrel band. Loosen the band and let the air cylinder move a little. Then put in the fill valve. You might not have noticed the air cylinder move when you took out the fill valve if. It were mine I would move the band back a little and it would be out of the way permanently. Good luck..

I have two of these myself. I gotta say that these are my go to rifle more than my RAWs, Edgun, etc..

I haven’t experienced this problem yet. I wonder if the piece is getting hung up on the o-ring? Perhaps some more silicone grease around the piece and a little more elbow juice will do the trick. I also wonder if cocking or de-cocking will help?

The barrel band doesn't encompass the air cylinder. Its sits between two fittings. Here is a picture of the assembly without the barrel band. As you can see, even without the band, the surfaces don't seat against each other as they should.

You don't want silicone grease anywhere near threads it acts like seizing compound.

Where were you an hour ago before I tried silicone grease? It still didn't seat properly, and when I tried to take it apart, I got this...😖

Now I can't get it to budge and it's getting marked up. I'm through messing with it.

New question. Where would you recommend I send this to have it fixed?

Clean the threads and remove the dowdy seal (metal washer with rubber o-ring in the center) see if it tightens all the way without it. If that's the case get a thinner one.

I tried it and it will seat, but it doesn't fix the problem of why it won't go back together with the new dowdy seal, or the original. Somethings not right.

DO YOU THINK I'M AN IDIOT!

Well, you'd be right!

I do believe you are correct. Now to separate these two items so I can reassemble. Unfortunately I cannot find my Irwin Groove lock pliers. I may wait 'til tomorrow and go to a machinist friend and see what he has to spin them apart.

Damn Odoyle your good. I really appreciate your help.
