Help mounting scope.

I have a new FX Impact and a Hawke Sidewinder FFP 6-24X56 with FX No Limit Scope Mounts. I first mounted the scope in the same position (forward/backwards) that I have seen other scopes mounted on FX Impacts but it felt very uncomfortable like I was forcible holding my head way back to get a full sight picture/eye relief (not sure this is the right terminology).

I have mounted it a lot more forward than I have seen anyone else scope mounted on an FX Impact (see picture below). The way it is mounted is comfortable but looks strange.

My questions is am I doing something wrong not to get the full sight picture/eye relief? I have not had a chance to get to the range yet to test it.

Thanks for any suggestions.

If your scope is in the proper location for you to have the correct eye relief in the picture your showing, you need to get different type of rings cantilevered that offset the scope so it will attach to scope on either side of turret.
