Help me please. If all things were = which one? Wolverine R .177 or .22?

I try to avoid the "which one should I get posts", however, I find myself in a bit of a spot. I sold off my RAW TM1000 .177 FT rig and my Evanix RS2 .177 Will Piat tuned rifle to buy a Wolverine R in .177

I now have the cash in the bank from the sales and decided to cruise the classifieds on four forums to see what was out there. Guess what I found? A Wolverine R in .22 for a savings of about $150 over the new .177. Owner is a straight up guy who is selling his 6 week old Wolverine to fund another project. Mush as I did to fund this one.

As it stands now I do not have a PCP in .177 - I was planning on replacing the 2 I sold for the Wolverine in .177

I do have a AAS410-SL in .22, A Mac1 LD converted to a regulated HPA set up in .22

I have the .25 in PCP covered with a Sumatra 2500 500CC and a RAW HM1111X

Blessed to have a .20 PCP as well. A Theoeben MFR tuned by AZ.............

I do have a 12 fpe tuned sweet shooting TX200 in .177 - and a custom Crosman .177 that I can convert to run on HPA.

SO I need help please.

.22

-OR-

.177

Daystate Wolverine R???????

Thank you in advance for your input.

Doesn't look like you need a hammer with what you have in .25 so why not go .177? I like the little laser but after using .22 and .25 for 100 yard plus shooting most of the time I have no use for the .177 anymore. Do still love it and have multiple guns in it. Just wont do what I need it to do currently. I am very blessed with a target/pesting range that starts at 80 yards and goes out to 300 yards. So I need to be able to buck the wind but don't want to go over .25cal either. Either way I think you will like what you end up with, Daystate makes a fine PCP.

Thanks for the reply's - I do have the hunting and "hammer" side covered, however, in the .177 will be void as of the packing up this weekend.

I do like the target shooting with the .177. I have started to look at the other option which would save me some coin.

I felt puled to the ,177 but wonder if I would grow bored with it and or try to justify that I need another FT rig etc. I think the .22 would certainly not disappoint and would give me hunting and further range. I'd imagine the .177 shoot flat and "laser" like as mentioned.

I have to go run an errand so I will think on it and look forward to replies when I get back.

I posted this and then had to leave to run errands and then a meeting. As I was running the errands I reflected on this thread in my ole' head and thought "What a problem to have right?!?" I am truly Blessed and certainly not lacking in airguns.

Some joke that it is a disease or you are going over to the "darkside" etc.

Well for me it is a hobby. Much like other hobbies the right tool for the job is essential in wringing out the most joy from the precious time I get to spend say target shooting. I am not a wealthy man by the worlds standards, however, two people will be getting rifles that they will enjoy and use for their intended purposes and I will get one rifle that I certainly will use. All made possible by the classifieds and the forums we all come to and read and for me "escape".
I forgot that I have a RWS 850 in .177 that I converted to a regulated bottle gun a year or so ago. So it will come back out to act as my .177 rifle and I am going with the .22 Wolverine!

A thread to follow when it arrives. In the meantime I have a weekend of honey do work and some shooting time to squeeze in between chores around the house.

Hey

I was in the same boat as you, .177 is what i was looking for but it was gonna be more a Plinking gun and small rodent pesting......did not want to spend a huge amount on a .177 rifle. I got the Impact in .177 and had a .22 barrel with it, so i switch off and on between these two calibers on one gun same settings and shoots amazing. Hope this helps

Well I have had the Wolverine R in .22 for several weekend shooting sessions now. Probably about 500+ pellets through it. I absolutely LOVE the rifle. Amazingly accurate, extremely well built. What can I say it is my first Daystate.

I do not feel as though I should have bought the .177

I still have a few choices in .177 at the house, but as others have said, shooting sessions in my backyard are usually .22 or .25

I plan on making a grand thread that features the Wolverine R .22

It is a sweet rig!

Thank you all for your help.....
