Help me decide new .25

I was really skeptical of the “magazine loading sequence” but I will tell you, after owning it, using it, getting used to it, I actually like it. More than that, I get it, it actually has a purpose. Only thing I don’t like is that you HAVE to hold it. I do hear great things about the Taipans, but the service I get from GA is top notch.

There is a mod for the cricket to hold the mag lever in the rear position so you don't have to hold it back while trying to load the mag. Basically adding a small notch in the side plate that allows the lever to sit there in the rear position by itself. Not sure who figured it out but it is so simple it makes you wonder why Kalibrgun didn't think of it? FYI I heard DonnyFl will be offering side plates made with this mod soon for cricket owners.....

My vote is for the Cricket

I have owned a Kalibrgun Cricket .25 for a few years now. As with other accurate guns, it is the nut behind the trigger. I mainly hunt dairies.100 yard hits are common place. DO NOT let anyone tell you the Cricket is not accurate. Out of the box my Cricket was HOT shooting 25.4 JSB`s at 945fps. I have lowered the velocity to 880fps and raised it back to 945fps. At 880fps I ALWAYS get pass through shots on ground squirrels. At 945fps, a connecting shot IS LOUD. Pigeons do not like this gun. Be it head, shoulder, or Texas heart shots, I HAVE NEVER RECOVERED A PELLET. The gun does its part. The shooter has to do his/her part. If I get bored, I mess with the hammer springs. I should leave well enough alone. Sometimes I just can not.

On a 250BAR fill, I get 48 shots (4magazines), of JSB 25.4`s @ 945fps. After 48 shots on a dairy, it time to head to the barn, and let the dust settle.

I think the EDgun and Cricket are probably very similar in performance but for me the r3m wins in the looks department (just a matter of taste I guess). I had a .22 wildcat and while it was accurate, light and compact it wasn't quiet (not even close) and I just didn't feel the build quality was on par with some of the other bullpups being offered and for it's price. Nothing I could put my finger on just didn't feel like it was solidly built. I bought it to toss on my back in a discreet case and ride my dirtbike to some sweet shooting spots but didn't think it would handle a good bashing lol. My r3m however, built like a tank! Just my opinion so don't crucify me. :)
