Help me decide between the two.

So I have been doing some research and there are quite a few people stating that they are having issues with FX QC issues. Now I do not own and I have not owned an FX air gun but it does concern me. So, at this point I am leaning towards the HW110 because the warranty is 3 years versus 1 and AoA can do any warranty work and service the HW. However it is hard to me to fully commit because there really are not any reviews of the US version showing accuracy out to 50 yards and plus. I guess maybe because it is a new model and those who do reviews more than likely haven't gotten the guns yet.

I am now also considering the Daystar Regal as its really not that much more. It is not regulated but I have heard that the barrel is amazing because of their valve system it does not "need" a regulator.

To those that have put and continue to give me input I really appreciate it. I do not mean to seem indecisive but this will be the only high end air rifle that I will be purchasing for a very long time and I want to make absolute sure that I make the right choice.

I am in the same boat with you; next purchase will be a high end AG and that will be it for some time to come. I have looked, read, and researched for a long time (total hours spent doing this stretches into days). I have looked into every rifle that I have read mentioned in countless articles - looked up specs, reviews and first hand accounts. Heck, I even made a comparison "decision tree" on the ones I narrowed it down to. One thing that really stood out for me was that as good as some unregulated guns are; they still have a velocity curve and do not get the same consistant velocity and shot count (per cylinder volume) as a regulated gun. Now you do have to compare apples to apples. You can't compare a Daystate Pulsar to a regulated Hatsan. I think you said that this AG will be used for hunting at 60yds and under. In that case an unregulated gun may be just fine for you. If you keep the rifle in it's sweet spot of the fps curve then shots out to 60yds should have no noticeable change in POI.

Alright guys so heres an update and hopefully a final decision...

I went to AOA today and pulled the trigger and took the Streamline synthetic with Hugget home...

Honestly I went against my gut feeling and what was really calling to me hearing and seeing the youtube reviews of the streamline in my head.... it was almost like i was trying to sell myself instead of just being excited and happy.. i honestly did not like the way the stock felt, and that there is only one screw holding the action to the stock.. i am going to be using this as a hunting gun and i need it to be durable and accurate. now by no means do i think the streamline is a bad gun i just don't think its the gun for me.

my plan is to go back tomorrow (about 9 hours from this post or so) and exchange the two guns.

to be honest, I am not a competition shooter and i don't need power adjustment, I do not like how the air tank from the streamline cannot be removed, and a one year warranty does somewhat bother me versus a three year warranty from HW... not to mention that AOA can do HW warranty work so couple that along with the "feel" of the gun I think the HW110 full length is going to be for me.. maybe the shorter one but I will not be keeping the streamline..

God willing AOA will have mercy on me and allow me to exchange the two packages without having to pay a restocking fee.

Pray for me lol

What did you end up with? I bought a used hw110. I like the rifle a lot. It shoots very well. I think though the rifle makes a lot of noise.; not from firing but every little movement on the rifle makes a racheting sound. The safety being the worst. Out in the woods stalking some small critter? CLICK! Bye Bye critter. Take a shot..silence..oops I missed, pull the sidelever back and the maf=gazine indexing mechanism make a racheting sound. I hope it will break in with use and stop those noises. If not I will sell that rifle. I do like everything else and have had no problems with it.

I got the 110. But mine is the longer version. Since having one it was worked on by AOA and tuned. Then out of no where the accuracy at 20 yards started opening up meaning the groups got bigger. It ended up getting warranty replaced by AOA. The gun I have now seems to shoot well but is pellet picky. It only likes the baracuda match 21 grain. I had hoped it would take JSB but it will not shoot them well. My definition of shooting well is in a vice pellet on pellet at 20 yards, obviously shooting outside a vice or unsupported is a lot different.

All in all. I like the gun but I wish it had a higher shot count and wasn't so picky.

Which version of the 110 did you get? The short or long barrel?
