Help me decide between the two.

Ok everyone. I am relatively new to PCP I have an entry level one right now but I'm hooked and looking to step up to something a little... ok well a lot nicer.

I think I've narrowed it down to the Weihrauch HW110 (but the full size not the carbine) or an FX Streamline in synthetic (I cannot afford the walnut stock).

im going to be hunting quail, rabbits, other small game and have hopes to get let on a dairy farm in AZ to take some doves. I'm looking at taking shots from 20-60 yards and I already have a great scope for the rifle.

Im torn between the two and this will be the last air gun I will be able to buy for a long time. I'm selling other toys to fund it so I want to make sure I make the right move and get the one that I will keep for at least a few years.

Thank you all for your help and time.

Yes here is a carbine and full size version of the 110. I'm interested in the full size version as it barrel is longer and the guy from AOA said it's 30 FPE. What drew me to it was the price out of the box. the thing is that there really aren't any reviews on the 110 that's sold in the US. The reviews are all of the one that's sold in the U.K. Which is very under powered in comparassion to the US version. Also I like seeing the 100 yard groups not just the 20 or 50. I don't plan on shooting 100 plus per say but it would be nice to be able to do so accurately.

I'd go with the Streamline. I've never shot the HW110, but I have the Streamline. Assuming the accuracy is comparable, the Streamline is over a pound lighter, has a better magazine, repeatable adjustable power, and cheaper. I'm not exited by the polymer action on the 110 either. The Streamline magazine won't let you cock it if you are empty, a feature I really like for hunting. The shot count for the Streamline on low power is phenomenal for plinking or target shooting in the basement.

I have an air tank.

I have a gauntlet .177 currently.

I really don't like the compato target. Yes I'm sure it's a great gun but I want something that has a longer range and higher shot count.

I'm open to used models.. but honestly I can get the Streamline and get a moderator later on if need be but I should have enough for one once my stuff sells.

I have a HW 110 on law way and I have it half paid off. So it's not too late for me to go to the Streamline. I just don't want to get one and wish I got the other.

well dont let price be the determining factor i have not held either ,but take in as much knowledge as i can the new hw 110 is made from the same plastic as which they make glock handguns with supposelivly they have worked through there barrel issues as for the streamline havent heard much of any negatives most everyone is happy with them,,,blackpool air rifles uk does some interesting reviews on them giving the hw110 gun of the year in there opinion but also states he thinks the hw 100 is a superior model ,,,i know your down to 2 but dont forget about bsa or air arms remember its gonna be a long time till u get the next dont let anything like price, since there all a couple hundred from each other throw you off ,,get what you think you will like best if i had to pick between them i belive the streamline is regulated and hw is not

We will be interested in your candid assessment after you have made your choice and used the gun for awhile. Have you actually held and shouldered both guns? How do they fit you? All things being close, one of these must whisper love to you or it will just end up a castaway in the corner. If you don't rapidly find affection then take a breather and touch many guns till you find the one. You may have to adjust you criteria but its easier than growing to hate your choice. Surprising how much touch, feel and appearance push logical criteria aside. If it is a gun you intend to be your primary long term choice the you gotta hold it first!

Socaloldman.

Ive held the Streamline and the HW110 but the carbine version not the version I would be buying. Both feel great as they are big boy Air Guns. My main concerns are accuracy past 50 yards, reliability and durability... I've learned my lesson rushing a decision and won't make that mistake again. I would love to shoot both which I may before I make my choice. But they both feel like good quality Air Guns!!

I do like how the Streamline is regulated and can adjust power but I'm wondering how often I would do that.. the HW has the sound issue taken care out of the box.. but if it's a difference of a hundred bucks for a moderator I'll get the Streamline I think.

I would certainly consider used guns. You could get one of those you have already identified and have money left over to use towards an air tank or a LOT of ammo. Alternately the money would open up tons of other equally great options and the past user may have already identified the best ammo and sorted out any out of the box little issues.
