Help choosing a First Focal Plane scope?

Just a thought...
There are good scopes...and then there are cheap scopes...but it is very hard to find a "good" - "cheap" scope! One of the things to look for in a scope besides the reticle, illumination, magnification, focal plane, and mil vs. moa, is the manufacturer's warranty. A quality scope manufacturer will usually have a no questions asked warranty, and the best ones do not require registration, nor does it matter how many owners it has had before. If it gets broken for any reason they will repair it or replace it for free...period! So spend a couple minutes looking at the scope's warranty along with its other features...later on you may be glad you did.
Best regards, Chuck

"Jonnes"I recently bought the Athlon Argos BTR 8x34/56 and in all honesty it feels and looks like a $1000 scope. Here's a comparison between two scopes I own at 700 yards. You can clearly see that the Argos at 34x magnification has a way more clear (less milky) image than the Hawke (which is a SFP scope by the way). And the Hawke is quite a good scope also!

The image is a little bit blurry because I looked through a somewhat dirty (closed) window.
have you ever looked through the MTC viper pro 5-30? I want that scope for my wildcat whenever I buy one but I don't know how good it is at 30x.
I've owned the Viper 8*32/60 and that was comparable with the Hawke Sidewinder. Haven't seen the Viper Pro in real life yet, but I've heard good things about it.

I have a Monstrum 6-24x50 FFP. I was initially impressed by the features and price but once I got it into the field, it was another story. First the eye relief and sight picture was poor. As soon as you find the perfect spot to see your target, if you move or track the target you can loose you sight picture. Second, the turrets don't work all that great for dialing in. When I was sighting it in I found something was not working correctly. The turrets keep ticking but the reticle stops tracking way before you actually run out of clicks. So, best way to use the scope is to zero it and let it be. If you are a dialer don't buy it.
