Help buying used SCBA tank

I need to find a SCBA tank to use while out in the field. I currently have a Yong Heng compressor so I will be filling it myself. I was going to get one off of EBay but I don’t like buying something that I know nothing about. Can someone recommend a decent deal on a good tank? I will also need whatever it takes to fill it with my compressor and fill the airguns from the tank. I’m not looking to get out as cheap as possible, I would rather have quality over price but I don’t want to pay $700 for a new one. I would also like to receive this by next week so it needs to be in stock somewhere here in the states. Any help would be appreciated.

I went with this bottle for maximum fills out target shooting and plinking and stuff which was a AceCare 9L which is about 84cu ft. for $330 shipped https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000028094266.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.344a4c4dCYmhmy but it took 26days to receive from china. Comes with everything you need and gives me more refills then ill ever need for a single day or 2 of use even with 2 people shooting. Refills my 25cal 60 times which is 1200 shots or so.

For hunting and fast shipping while waiting for my 9l bottle I went with this bottle, a 1.6L (98cu in) Hatsan Bottle https://amzn.to/3iySF9F $257 its very small and lightweight and perfect to stick in backpack while out hunting and gives me plenty of refills for a day of starling or mouse/gopher/Pdog/rabbit hunting and even light target shooting. I really wouldn't want to be lugging around anything bigger then this 1.6L for actual field hunting unless I was in a stand or blind or similar. And even then I think I would rather have the little bottle. The little bottle refills my 25cal about 9-10 times which is about 200 shots for me.

I got one Acecare 6.8L bottle from ali, and right next week I hear for an auction sale in Fire dept, I bought 3 expired 14L scba (complete gear with west and mask) for less then $150, so now I have four bottles. I am tethering for BR and always have at least two bottles in reserve filled to 300 bar. I am using YH as well. This summer I replaced the scba inches valve to DIN valve, way better connectors and for myself more convenient to work with.

Are you buddies w/ local VOLUNTEER fire chief. If not , get to be! When some dumb×÷÷ reg comes down or their tanks get "old" they have to get new ones. They usually have to pay some larger department to "dispose" of tanks. Professional depts. can't and won't give you a tank. Be quiet about it and approach to see if you can have 1(or 14) old one. Many are still in inspection. . Since you fill yourself, that doesn't matter. Don't offer to pay, that's illegal and a red flag to him. Just be honest and FRIENDLY AND QUIET. Give him some time.

It's worked out great for me. First line of post is the most important!

I would highly recommend a Stikman fill assembly from Gene whatever tank you decide on. Many, many benefits you can thank me for one day. You won't find a better Christian to deal with and his service is unmatched. He also sells tanks on the site, If interested. Give him a call just to chat if you wish to.

STIKMAN scba Adapter for PCP Airguns. The Best PCP Airgun Fill System! (airtanksplus.com)

These tanks look really nice and have some years left with being 2010 built. I saw a couple of other 2010's as well. I really like the Scott tanks and their valves, and have purchased two off of eBay myself. I trust the Scott tanks. As long as no big gouges you'll be okay for many years with these.

Scott 4500PSI 60MIN SCBA Carbon Fiber Bottle Tank Cylinder 2010 CGA347 Valve | eBay

Just my two pennies in an effort to help. This is my setup for the range. It is an eBay 60 minute Scott tank and Stikman fill assembly. With the 5 foot hose that comes with the Stikman and vertical mount, it works really well at the bench for tethering once the tank pressure runs down to the PCP max pressure. You can shoot for many, many hours or days like this.

I did go ahead and buy the Stikman along with a tank bag. I put an offer on eBay for a 45 minute Avon tank, made in the USA that was never placed in service and is supposed to be new in the box. The tank was made 03/15, so I could get it filled somewhere which probably will never happen since I have a Yong Heng and will do that myself. My offer got accepted, so I’ll have just less than 370.00 for the tank including shipping to me. I think I got a good deal here, but I wouldn’t mind confirmation either way. Below are pics of the tank as listed on eBay.

I agree the Stikman is the best fill kit for SCBA tanks I have it plus the adapter to do cascade filling of tanks (ComboMan) if you get more than one tanks it's the way to go. If you can fill the tanks yourself then get a new Chinese tank and the different fill kit from air tanks plus the only reason to get a SCBA is to have other places fill them since most places won't fill the Chinese tanks.

I am not familiar with the tank brand. It should have a DOT sticker on it being USA made, which would be comforting.. At least it is a new one and shouldn't have any gouges or deep scratches on it. If all is well it should last you for many years. The Stikman is a little steep initially, but you'll appreciate its unique design over many others, and if any issues they will take care of you. I would say you done good and got out much cheaper than with many other options for air needs.

I am not sure of your plans with the YH compressor. I know of another air gunner that fills a 45 minute tank with his YH. He does it in steps to avoid overheating it. He has also had to replace some parts on it. I use an Air Venturi 4500 PSI compressor, so I can't help much with a YH, but there are tons of members on here and on other forums that have them well figured out for best use. A lot of post about them, too.
