For those of you who frequent "gatewaytoairguns", you may have seen a post or two from me.

I look forward to getting to know this forum better and hopefully contribute to it in a positive manner.

For full disclosure, I was banned from "gatewaytoairguns" for "political" posts and being rude to a lady moderator.

I regret being rude to the lady moderator.

Anyway, I don't plan on upsetting anyone here! Learned my lesson... so to speak.

Oops... I forgot to say that I have a .177 Benjamin Fortitude G2, 2 .177 Nova Vista Freedoms and one in .22 (not working).

Actually, the Fortitude is the only working AG I have. All of the Freedoms have problems.

I'll have to get used to this forum as the format is very different than many other forums I have used. (smile)

Well, another OOPS! I want to thank AGN for the discount code that helped me to save money on several air gun related purchases!

Well, that isn't the problem. I have a hand pump and was using it to pump up the Freedoms, along with the onboard pump, however, one .177 will not hold air for 24 hours (poppet problem I suspect) and the other .177 I need to take apart the pump and try to clean it and maybe replace the inner o-ring with 2 smaller ones. That is the fix recommended by many for this AG.

The .22 Freedom... well, I bought it new, sent it back and bought it back as a "parts" gun for 1/3 of the new price. However, I have never been able to fix it and nearly broke the small part in the center of the pump, so it has simply sat in a corner for quite a while. That one holds air, or at least it did the last time I pumped it up, but the fps has always been really erratic. I suspect it has something to do with the pre-charged portion of the gun, but I really don't know or I would have already fixed it. I could hear air leaking out as I pumped, so pumping took more strokes, but it did hold air. The erratic fps was the problem and I *think* it had something to do with the pre-charge, but even though I bought the adapter for the pre-charged cylinder, that did not help to fix the problem. Again, it would pump up and hold air, but the fps was too erratic even with only 5 shots before pumping back up. (Last edit, I swear!!! LOL!)

There was a guy on the gateway, Din? I think his name was, that offered new poppets and other modifications for the Freedom/Liberty, but since I was banned I have not been able to contact him.

P.S.

Thank you Odoyle! However, as I said, I was banned from gatewaytoairguns, so I can't even look at those links without using Tor browser and in any case, my guess is that I was involved in those threads myself! (grin)

I will have to take a look at the other threads you mentioned, but I am pretty sure that I have already read them as I have researched the Freedom AG's pretty extensively over the last 2+ years.

Please forgive me for editing my posts extensively. I never say exactly what I want to say when I first write a post. Sometimes not even after multiple P.S.'s and multiple edits. (chuckle)

Well at least you have 3 parts guns to make one perfect one (OR Probably Even 2). I only have one parts gun to spare for 2 good ones.

I do miss using the .177 Freedoms because they were dead nuts accurate with the boxed CPUM's. As I said, I bought 20,000 of them and have about 19000 or so left.

Also, I made DIY suppressors for them, so even though the stock .177 Fortitude is REALLY quiet, the .177 Freedoms were MUCH more quiet with my DIY "LDC".

That is important because where I live is a relatively dense area and pellet guns are verboten even though it is the best way to get rid of pest rodents. Poison, traps, etc have little to no effect. As my name implies, I make sure that every shot I take has a safe backstop. I have some good and some very bad neighbors (some of them burgled me and cleaned me out before I really got into AG's). The good neighbors like what I do. The others?... I don't want them to get me into trouble... so quiet is necessary!

I shoot from 12 feet inside my house to minimize the noise even with the suppressed guns.

The Fortitude shoots them fair, but not nearly as accurate as the Freedoms. Never got the .22 working good enough to know if it was good with Crosman pellets or not.

However, in the last 2 days I have killed 4 Chippers and 3 tree rats from ~15 to 30 yards with the Fortitude using those pellets. So... (grin)

The contacts I once had on GTA are the stumbling factor for me. If I were not banned, I could make all 3 Freedoms worthy. (heavy sigh)
