Heat Source for TP removal

A heat gun gets plenty hot for loosening Locktight.

That's what I used, a heat gun.

Never used a heat gun, a propane torch has worked well in removing a couple of silencers that were glued. It's actually a Bernzomatic torch that used map/pro fuel, probably gets much hotter than necessary. I've never been successful with a hair dryer, but it seems to work for others. 

I used a soldering pen tip on a 2 mm set screw on my Airwolf trigger that was locktited. Then used a micro torch for about 5 seconds, did the trick.

I've used a heat gun for this and other scenarios where I needed to loosen lock-tite. If you do use a torch, I recommend butane vice propane. Butane doesn't burn nearly as hot as propane and there is less chance of damage or discoloration. Don't forget there is an internal o-ring in the steel transition piece between the brass transfer port and the barrel tube...

You might grab the wife's hair dryer.. ;-) Some dryers can be really hot. Sometimes just heating the metal and getting to expand will break the bond.

They do work well, so long as you keep the heat to it until it "soaks" into the brass too.

I usually use a heat gun, but have used a hair dryer for the blue Loctite. The red may be a different story. I have had to use a torch on that before.

Wow - never needed a torch to remove Toilet Paper.

Again - WTF is TP in this instance. Introduce your acronyms!
