Hawke Sport Optics Airmax 30 SF Compact 3-12x40

I have that 3-12x40 30SF compact on my Uragan compact. Nice light weight and clear. Slight audible clicks but feel distinct. Turret caps must be removed to adjust both. Ordered mine from Midway before they had them in stock for $329.

Yo,

Want other options are similar size/clarity and $100 less?

That’s the best price. If still available. Lowest I’d seen was $359

The Hawke Compacts have capped turrets.

However, if you're fine living with the caps off, the turrets of course have markings in MIL. They even have a turret revolution counter.

The MIL reticle is SFP, and it's calibrated at 10x power. I wished it was calibrated at max. magnification....

✔️ I second Yo!'s Discovery recommendation.

I needed a compact scope in that magnification range, and found the Discovery VT-3 3-12x44 FFP: an inch shorter, $100 cheaper, very clear glass, and I'm a "dialer"..... 😊

They have it in SFP, too.

Matthias

I bought it from Wes at Airgunarcheryfun.ca — he's a great guy, I met him on the forums, really helpful.

Here're the links (make sure you change currency over from Canadian Dollars.... 😄).

They all focus down to 10y. Exposed turrets. 60 moa elevation adjustment. MIL/MIL.

🔶SFP

VT-3 3-12x44 SFP = $142

The Hawke Airmax Compact is a fine scope. In fact, I like Hawke scopes for general airgunning. I'm sure everyone will pounce on me for saying that, but I like their reticles and ranging abilities. Some scopes mentioned above have WAAAY to busy reticles. Further, optical clarity isn't worth s--t if the rest of the features are not to your liking. This forum topic is funny. Anytime someone asks about scope "A", everyone jumps in and says you should buy or consider scope "B", or "C" or "D" or a dozen others. Buy the scope you like and forget all this bovine scatology.

Specifically Chinese scopes here...

Buy them all then return what you don't like SIMPLE! I returned more than SIXTY SCOPES that were just too blurry for me OR already had the SAME SCOPE that I paid 1/2 to 1/5 the price under different brand labels after doing direct side by side comparisons!!!

You all be shocked mocking my cheapness while you paid at least 2x to 4x the price for your scope that I also have wearing different brand labels.

That's why I say to buy them all so you can be pissed at yourself instead of me after realizing you could have gotten it for at least half price (or up to one fourth close to one fifth the price) wearing a generic label.

@JungleShooter (Mathias) and @Yo

Thx for Discovery VT-3 3-12×44 SFP recommendation and the link.

Couldn't pass on the ArcheryFun price. And Wow!! Great customer support from Wes, plus DHL delivery from Canada. Purchased yesterday and scope arrives Monday :O

And I really love not having to pay CA sales tax.

Aman to that!!! I also ordered the HD 3-12 FFP with illumination......can't wait to try it. Think I'll sell the vortex veyron 3-12 FFP without illumination, pretty sure they are the same scope but I really would like illumination.

Same factory

People would be shocked how many different popular well known respected brands come out of that factory.

I go with mostly with the Aimsports Alpha6 since its the CHEAPEST for the upper end glass with illumination. Then go Vector and Disccovery all from the same factory too so is the JSAR FFP illuminated version. AEON was from there too.
