Hawke Sidewinder FFP Scopes

Has anyone seen any reviews of this scope yet? I have one of the new Hawke 6-24 x 56 mm FFP scopes on order right now and was trying to get some feedback on it (via reviews, etc). I'm planning to compare it directly to the Athlon Argos 6-24x50 FFP scope I currently have, then decide which one to hang onto moving forward.

I was really wanting something more like a 8-32 or 8-34 scope, but I do like that the Hawke has a 56mm bell on it, I like Hawke's solid construction, and I finally have an option in the Hawke scope lineup now that they are matching units in the reticle to the turrets (Mil - Mil).

Guess what just arrived today?

"Kyler"FNG here. I have the Hawke Airmax 30 SF 4-16×50 AMX IR and love it. But I've been looking at their FFP scope and wondering if has anyone bought one? if so, thoughts?
I just received mine yesterday (6-24x56 version). First glance: I was very impressed. I plan to do a side by side today with 3 scopes that are all 6-24: Athlon Argos, Hawke Airmax 30, and the new Hawke Sidewinder FFP scope. I’ll share my thoughts after spending some time with them outdoors this afternoon.

After spending 3.5 hours outside in the mid-30's, freezing my toes off, studying the 3 scopes side by side at 50 yards, the short answer is the new Hawke FFP scope is excellent! Full comparison / review will be coming, but I have to warm up, transfer all my texts (that have my comparison notes), and compile a usable/readable review to post-all after grilling out dinner tonight and wrapping up one of the scopes to send off to the new buyer.

Well, it’s up to 11 pages now, no lie. I am still working on writing it. After work today I took the time to just relax and do some shooting with the new scope. Here’s what I posted in the RAW Review thread (since it pertains to this scope):

~~~~~~~~~~~
Awesome night of shooting here after work tonight! Wow, just wow!
Sighted in my gun at 50 yards, and proceeded to put 4 shots through 0.350" ctc while doing so, so I thought 'this is about to be really good':
I then decided to shoot some groups at 50 yards, after getting the hang of the new scope's eye box and overall visual 'feeling', I dialed it up to 24x and shot my first 5 shot group, though it was stilll 'off center', but nonetheless, it was 0.510" (0.98 MOA).
I dialed it in closer to center, then shot another group: 0.280", CTC!!!
Went out to photograph the group and measure it, then sat back down and shot my next group: 0.260" CTC, 5 shot!!! Wow!
Both groups together:
I decided that was enough at 50 yards so I moved back to 75 yards before running out of air for this fill (I was getting dangerously close to falling off the regulator-which I ended up doing during my first group at 75 yards.)
I took two shots and saw I was further left than I was at 50 yards, so I dialed in 0.2 MIL adjustment to the right, and shot my only group at 75 yards for the night: first 4 shots went 0.320" (0.41 MOA) CTC!!! The last shot was the first shot that fell off the regulator, so it dropped low, but was right there-it opened up the group to 0.590" (0.75 MOA)! Wow-had I not dropped off the regulator, that last shot was going through the same grouping as the first 4 shots-I could just feel it...
What an incredible night of shooting - even if it was a bit chilly (41F, but it felt more like it was in the mid to lower 30's...).
Good info and thanks for taking the time to post this. I had been on the fence for quite a while about getting an Athlon Argos BTR to replace my Millett TRS-1, but I had seen the new reticle Hawke had and bought the Sidewinder. Looking forward to checking it out but I’m really hoping it truly stands equal to or better than the Athlon, as the Argos has consistently high reviews/ratings.
